Anyone know how to remove the protection from the /amember folder if you happened to be dumb enough to for some unknown reason set it to be protected?
I can't access amember at all now. Waiting on an answer from support, but it's been two hours now and I'd really like to get back to work. Any help is appreciated. -Rob |

One would think you should be able to edit a config file, etc., through FTP...but I have no idea which file.

FTP in and delete the file .htaccess from the directory you protected.

Hi David,
Just joined up over at Membership Academy. Glad I found your site. Maybe now I'll make some progress. I've been at this for two days and my brain is officially off. Hence... protecting the amember folder! Anyway, I figured I should delete the .htaccess file, but there isn't one in the /amember folder, the one I protected. I'm at a loss. Thanks, -Rob |

What the hell??? The .htaccess is/was in there now. Deleted and I'm all good.
Seriously, I know I said my brain was officially off, but I specifically went into the folder looking for that file and it wasnt there. only a .listing. Whatever. It's working again. And now with the help of your site David, hopefully I'll actually make some progress. Thanks, -Rob |

It probably was hidden, usually .htaccess files are hidden by default by a lot of FTP clients.
