SQUEEZE PAGES

INTERNET MARKETING

As someone who is new to all this.
I need some advice on Squeeze and Sales pages.
When you set these up do you set them up under a different Domain from your main website

I mean are they stand alone or are they sub domains.
Do they also run on the same hosting or do they have to be set up
completely separate from your mainsite.

If so what is the best and cheapest way to do this.

It depends

You don't HAVE to have your squeeze page on a seperate domain or host name.

That said, it can help, for example if you will be on a teleseminar and want to mention the squeeze page then it is easier to say "example.com" rather than "example dot com forward slash pages forward slash my hyphen cool hyphen squeeze hyphen page"

  and i wanted to run a sales page or Squeeze page from that domain.
  
  Would it then be a case of getting one made and adding the extension

I have my squeeze page on the same domain, like this: "http://www.mydomain.com/squeezepage.html"

No need to have a separate domain name for a squeeze page in my opinion.

its starting to make sense to me now.
Can any of you guys recommend a good course online where you can
learn all this info and more which is either FREE or they are not just trying
to sell sell sell to you all the time.
I have a site which ranks very well but should now be earning
and at the moment it is not a little perplexed.

I agree. There is no need - in fact if you look in my signature I have posted a free WSO which is essentially a squeeze page if you think about it

Having squeeze pages on domains can be helpful for segmenting your audience (for example my social media workbook freebie is not targetiing the same reader as my authority blogger audience), but when starting out it's not necessary.

Some people like to have squeeze pages on a separate domain, some like to have them under the same domain as the same site. There is no right or wrong really. If you're worried that doing one over the other is going to make a huge difference to your conversions and sales, then don't be. The most important thing is always the marketing side.

If you do not already have a website then you will need to go to godaddy or whatever and register your domain.

If you already have a website then create the squeeze page on that.

Either way you will need to either upload a web page (eg. index.html) or create a page in your blog software, and paste in the code that you got from your email newsletter service for your list.

There is a course in the WSO section now with some free squeeze page templates on offer etc..

I use wordpress to build squeeze pages, set them up on a page called "squeeze" and my sales page on a page called "Home"...all i then do is rotate between the two as and when i see fit, by going into wordpress reading settings and changing "Front Page Displays.." value to either home or squeeze...does the job for me!

I set them up on subdomains or subfolders like this:

mysite[dot]com/freeclickbankebook

I don't have any on a main domain yet! I have free squeeze pages in my sig below you can edit in any way you like if you need them. Just edit them in the free kompozer editor.

  Honestly, it matters a lot less where your squeeze page is located and a lot MORE on 1) What you are offering on your squeeze page 2) How well your copy does at converting the visitors into subscribers and 3) How well your list follow-up campaign is at converting your subscribers into customers as you grow your relationship with your list.
  
  Each one of these can become a critical stumbling block on the way to effectively deploying a squeeze page (or any opt-in campaign).

The only problem with not putting the squeeze page on its own domain is that you will have people clicking away to the actual domain out of curiosity.

With a squeeze page, you want to drive one outcome so this can cause some leaks in the system.
