Hi Guys, I'm helping a friend with using Youtube and he needs some help with getting more Youtube views. He is in the Sports Niche and trying to get subscribers for his Youtube channel. Also, he is trying to drive traffic to his Facebook, Myspace and website. He want to be able to get into the Youtube Partnership program. Can anyone give me some tips or point me in the right direction to getting more views on his videos?

Maybe he is spread too thin trying to get traffic to 4 or 5 sites at once.
If it's Youtube that needs the traffic right now then concentrate on getting traffic there. Find related Youtube videos and start making "Video Responses" with links to his. Write a great "sports" article and drive traffic to the Youtube video. Write an article for a sports ezine. People that read articles at directories like EzineArticles respond well to seeing a link to a video in the resource box. Find sports related niche forums. Create a viral ebook or report that has links back to the video. Social bookmarking. Do a search here for more posts on getting traffic. Matt |

For what it's worth, my youtube channel has over 1.5 million views (search Turtleknife) and I have learned a lot by trial and error. So here is what I can offer your friend.
I am not exactly sure what he is selling in his niche, or why he wants more youtube subscribers, but outside of a small segment of youtube producers it is a questionable strategy to go after youtube subscribers if your main objective is profitability. IMHO opinion it is MUCH better to get the view from your website (using Youtube embed of course), and build a subscriber list using aweber. Having your own list is way, way better than having subscribers at Youtube. Even some of the top video producers on youtube's partnership program don't make nearly as much as you can from having your own list. In fact, if you were creative enough to get in the partnership program, well you wouldn't be asking this forum to help with your video production. So forget about that really because its more for talented artists that have no other way to monetize their content. So here is what you should do - be as creative as possible in whatever product or niche you are promoting. The most successful videos online are usually humorous in some way and are FAR more likely to be passed on from friend-to-friend (ie viral). So if your niche allows for humor - use it. Here are some ideas - Use bloopers or outtakes in your videos - Use a humorous character - Inject real movie clips to make your point more clear - Show somebody losing their temper - Mock popular media The best way to get ideas is to actually watch youtube videos with lots of views. Now you don't want to lose sight of your concept (which should be simple btw) but you want viral traffic and being creative in a funny way is your best bet. |

Here's a cool trick..
Go to Youtube, search for videos in your niche, and hit the stats link. Now you have a list of websites interested in videos like yours.. drop them a line with a link to your youtube vids and you should be in business. Best of luck |

I agree with 2nd post, you need to know exactly where you want your traffic to go 'cause there are different strategies to follow.
I'd suggest submitting your video through trafficgeyser to multiple video directories, as many as possible. |

Matt M., I think he really wants to move forth with getting
more Youtube views first. You made some good suggestions and we will be trying them out. Marty S., He wants to promote his shoe brand, clothing line and to get more people to his online broadcasts.Recently, he made a website and have an option for people to sign up for his newsletter. But, he doesn't have any content on the website. I think he need to work on improving the website. He is trying to get traffic to this website, too. Thanks for the suggestions! Louise Evans, Thanks, I will have to try that trick. KatyaSenina, I will definitely google Chad Kimball. David Wolfman, I will have to ask him what's most important to him when it comes to choosing which website to focus on first. I will looking into using Traffic Geyser. I really appreciate the help and advice guys. |

I pay 1 cent per click when I launch a video to get views to it, then once there are a bunch of views, comments, and ratings I stop paying for clicks and the momentum carries the video.
