Default Soliciting feedback/ideas on keyword tool prototype

Hey all:

Had an idea after reading a number of recent guides to keyword choosing processes, and I took the gist from a few and put together a little something which I'd like some feedback one.

http://michaelkimsal.com/keyword-check/scan.php

I can't automate all of this right now - you'd need to use the google keyword suggestion tool (link provided at the site), grab the CSV, paste it in to my tool above, and it'll do some churning away to give you an idea of ratios of how many searches are done vs how many pages are in google for that particular keyword. I dare say there are probably other tools out there that do something like this as well (?).

What are some other factors I should look at including, or making separate tools for? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Does it search google for the site count? If so, your server IP will be blocked from google after so many searches.

I know you said you can't automate everything right now, I'd love to eventually have a keyword tool that would generate a list querying expiring domain names containing the root keyword if available, along with a column displaying PageRank and existing backlinks.

'Course, that's in my perfect little world.

Right now it does. I'm putting in limits to help prevent this sort of thing, but thanks for the warning. As I said, this is just a prototype - need to determine some other options (and input/suggestions welcome).

Thanks.

That's a good idea! Dumb question - where would I get the list of expiring domains? Are there open sources for that sort of thing? Do you have a particular source you use?

Thanks.

I just pulled this list from https://auctions.godaddy.com/trpHome.aspx?t=5, but I think you could get the PR and backlink information from Alexa.

Interesting - thanks!

Now, another - perhaps obvious - question for anyone reading this. Would you be willing to buy tools that do these sorts of calculations and what not? If so, would you be expecting a desktop app, or a hosted web service?

If you added my suggestion, then hell yes.

Not having an internal solution to querying expiring domain names is the one thing I wish MNF had. And I vote desktop based.
