Default Many Articles Ready... EzineArticles.com's Article Body Still a Headache. Help Please!

HELP!

I guess that more would have more problems writing articles, than getting them formatted properly in EzineArticles.com's "Article Body." Not me. I'm the opposite.

I'm a complete dunce trying to get that figured out -- specifically as a streamlined, matter-of-fact procedure (almost an afterthought in nature). Write a million articles a day ... get hung up on nothing else. Well, I'm just about ready to hang myself.

Is anyone using a procedure that allows them to create Bold, Italics, etc outside of the Article Body, then copy and paste it inside without a Formatting or Meta Tag problem? Is it a situation where you (must) create Bold, etc inside the Article Body -- unless you do HTML manually? No way around it.

I'm using Open Office, which is similar to Microsoft Word -- and it's free. I can get the article appearing exactly as I want it to show eventually on screen, but EzineArticles' Article Body keeps getting in my way.

How did you make friends with them, and get your masterpiece displayed as you created it? I'm (partially) having a sense of humor about this... it really has been very frustrating today.

Again, is it simply a fact that you have to Format and add Meta Tags (inside) the Article Body? And, if Meta Tags are entered (outside), does it have to be manual insertion of HTML?

Simply stated -- is there any method to prepare the article (completely outside) of EzineArticles.com's Article Body, copy and paste into the Article Body... and that's it? It's completely accepted. Too good to be true?

Thank you in advance for any help. I suspect this would help numerous others.

Best wishes,

John

Be careful what, and how, you submit ...
Ezine Articles Is banning Like Crazy, Are YOU Next? (just FYI)

It's been a while since I read their rules in terms of formatting, but from what I remember, the way you should submit to EZA is from a text editor such as notepad - then adjust/edit from within. I don't think their platform, or many others, are happy with text being copied/pasted from word processor software - because of all the variations of such software.

If in doubt, scrutinize/analyze their author article editing/submission rules

I agree with the above post. I had the same problem when I first started submitting articles until I switched to Notepad. EZA has a little icon you can click - I think it has a T on it. This will open a new window that you can paste your article into. Then insert it into the main body. I think it is supposed to clean up the article from any hidden codes that software may insert that EZA doesn't like.

Not sure if my thinking is correct here but that's how I insert all of my articles to EZA and I haven't had much trouble lately.

Let us know if it helps.

Peter

You'll find this problem with a lot of article directories these days. I can't remember off the top of my head which ones allow what but I know that Word, and probably Open Office, adds a lot of tags that you can't see unless you look at it in html format. I have the same problem with my blogs and if you paste directly from Word into your blog it will hose up the formatting. I've even had posts so messed up that I couldn't format them to try to fix them.

What I do now is past from Word into the html tab on my blogs. On sites like Ezinearticles I hit the little button with the blue "W" on it and paste in there. What you're trying to do is remove the default formatting for font etc which shows as meta tags when you look at it in html. Then you can go in and bold and format it. PITA, I know...but what cha gonna do?

I've gotten pretty good at knowing which sites will reject my articles for bold, links in the body of the article etc...and which ones won't I like those ones!

...Thanks Ian, bretski and pharris1.

This is what I've decided to do -- it apparently will work well.

That is:

Open Office (which I have)

Save in txt.

Copy and paste into EzineArticles.com's Article Body (clicking "T" (paste as plain text; then transfer is absolute duplicate i.e. maintains paragraph spacing; which otherwise is expanded) first. Then creating Bold, Italics etc withing the Body.

The only thing I don't like is I have an extra step adding Bold etc within the Body -- therefore it's not a simple, complete copy and paste.

It's good; though I'll remain open for cutting that fat off.

Thanks again,

John

I haven't found a way to avoid that. Notepad seems to be helpful in this regard. I haven't found a way to do it with "Word" (or anything else) that doesn't make a mess of it.

Just use notepad.

With EZA, its best to stay away from all the bolded, italicized text - also, keep the quotation marks out if at all possible.

Bold, italics and underlines aren't going to make as much of a difference anymore when it comes to SEO.

Hi,

Don't work in wysiwyg mode and paste as text.

Click the 'Turn WYSIWYG' off and paste the html there then turn it back on
and it should be fine.

Edited: Turn off WYSIWYG mode at ezinearticles when posting your article body.

Wanted to mention that I write articles in notepad. When the article is finished I paste it into Frontpage to format and then copy the html from there.

You could also use NVU (it's free) if you don't have a different html editor.

OR.. if you have a copy of TypeItIn (wavget.com), it has the ability to wrap any text in tags like bold, hyperlinks, etc.. so you can just do the entire process in notepad.
