Going Rate For Already Finished Product Same As Ghostwritten Product?

I have a quick question - if someone were to sell a site they have already, which is basically a salespage to sell an ebook - is it reasonable to expect to get as much (plus more) as they would if they had ghostwritten just the ebook for someone?

What I mean is - if I wanted to sell a site I have, which has an ebook with over 60 pages, plus other content which equals out to almost 100 pages - will I get anywhere near what I would have if I had just ghostwritten the ebook for someone?

Most ghostwriters charge about $20 per page, if I am correct. So, is it possible to sell a site with an already finished product for close to that amount? Even if the site has never been promoted, and is still not getting any traffic (although there is a PR 3 ranking)?

Just curious if it would even be worth my time....

Thanks for any input!

Marie

A site plus the book should be worth more than just the book- since the buyer would be getting a sales letter.

Marie, I agree with Chris. The sales letter is a value added to the product even if it has never been hosted. If it has been hosted and sales can be demonstrated, that increases the value of the package.

It depends where you sell it. Many IM newbies think ebooks are supposed to cost $27 - so they wouldn't be a good market. If your site is in a decent niche and you can find people serious enough then you could get a good price. Like people have already said, some people pay thousands for just the sales page, so it really depends how well you can make clear the value. If the site converts well into sales then just using the current sales stats might be enough.
