Hi Guys, I'm looking into getting into Article Writing for others in order to make some extra money on the side. I'm just wonder what advice do you have for someone that is relatively new in this field of work. My queries mainly revolve around the topics; where should I offer my services? And what are fair prices to charge? Though any other advice would be great. Thanks. |

Stick to topics you know a lot about.Unique articles (sold only once) are usually priced at $10 - 100$ a piece depending on the length of the article.Elance.com is a place where people can find your services.

Make sure you can provide extensive library of sample writing, this encourages the trust. Sig up with scriptlance, elance, guru.com, and first of all warrior forum, you may struggle to find an assignment before you get good reviews at online services. Use personalized PM with every bid you place, explaining you understand the project and what would you do with it. Point to your professionalism and back it up. As for the price you may start low to build credibility, you'll see what others bid. Be aware you will be competing with asian writers and they can drive the price down to an uncomfortable level. Set up your writer profiles on as many sites as you can. |

Don't be discouraged if your prices need to be lower in the beginning. Everyone has to start somewhere as you start to build a reputation. Matt |

| QFT. My rate was 1.5 cents a word for the first article writing I did here, and if I hadn't done that job, I probably wouldn't have gotten any of the others.

You might consider putting together small niche sites that are all content (10-20 pages) and then flipping them. Also I believe HubPages pays for articles. There's another article directory that pays, as well, but I can't think of the name. Content something. Also, check into Examiner.com Put up 5-10 good articles on your blog-site as samples. Offer your services for free to 2-3 well-known marketers here in return for reviews. Also look at doing some work at eLance and a few other freelancer forums - just don't stay there long because the pay is WAY too low. There are a bunch more things you can do, but a lot of that info is here on the forum, so do some reading to see what's been suggested. Check out Jeff Herring. Start creating content for your own sites - follow XFactor's model or Keith Kogane's (or both) and create real money for yourself. |

I've published a few articles on there. Nothing against EzineArticles, but AC's a great paying alternative. It takes a lot of work and it doesn't happen overnight, but some people make as high as $1300/mo from AC alone... you wouldn't get rich but that's definitely rent and a car payment - it's like getting paid to promote your business. | |
