Multi-page presells - is this the next BIG thing?

Hello Everyone,

I have been seeing quite a few multiple page pre-sells lately and I was wondering your thoughts on them for plain old affiliate sites.

Here is the old way of doing it(traffic flow):

Article -> Presell Page(product review) -> Vendor Page.

Here is the NEW way:

Article -> [Presell page 1, presell page 2, presell page 3] -> vendor page

I can totally see how this works, and I expect that it will highly increase conversions.

What they have been doing for presell page 1 is include a lot of valuable content with some slight preselling of the product they want to promote. Then at the bottom of the article they say something like 'Continue to the next page' or they have a cool image button that does that.

Then you are taken to the next presell page which has slgihtly less content and more presell. After that you continue to page three which is basically no content with a heavy presell of the product they want to promote.

So throughout the whole process, you are exposing them to your offer 3-4 times before they ever hit the vendors page.

I can imagine how this will dramatically increase conversions.

Can anyone confirm this? How to you keep traffic from leaking out during your pre-sell process?

Thanks for everyone's input!

Sounds like a cool idea but on the other hand you need a few sales copies to do what one used to do before.

To keep the prospect engaged you could use hooks ( "I'll reveal this on the next page...", "keep reading...", "stay to the end to find the big secret..."). You have to work with their curiosity.

It's good they don't know how much more they have to read as opposed to the traditional copy. Place links on every page if they want to buy half way through.

I have a product in the "build muscle niche" and I just have a squeeze page that offers two free videos. The next page is "Video 1", it's 30 minutes of free content. At the end of the video it prompts the viewer to click the link below that video and watch video 2.

Of course Video 2 is my sales video I use a timer script to make my order button pop up when I reveal the price...works pretty well!
