Wow Product database idea

Ok it might be a wow idea or it might be a poor idea,but I thought i would run it passed fellow members.

Example
I have a site that sells football boots but have only one page,so i am thinking how could I make this a mega site that will get lots of traffic,so I start thinking why not create a database of all football boots that people can buy.

I then contact football boot sellers and tell them to add thier designs (upload images ect and tech spec.

Do you think people would add their product or would I have to add it myself.

what would be the quickest way to build a football data base

Many companies that have affiliate programs also have data feeds
ready to just hand over to you. Those feeds have prices, descriptions,
pictures, etc. You just pull them into your software to output
thousands of pages.

I haven't used on recently, but use to have entire magazine
stores, etc. Some affiliate programs have literally hundreds of
thousands of items in data feeds. Think Office Max or Best Buy.
