Nick Marks Giving Away >$500< In THIS Thread! (Give Traffic Tips, Make Money Here & Now!)

Hey Warriors,

Nick Marks here. So I wanted to sort of "give back" to those here on the warrior forum. I've come up with a little game for us to play here. YOU can make money, and provide good content for the forum at the same time.

Step 1. Post a traffic tip here in this thread. Anything good about driving traffic to your site.

Here's how you win:

If your reply is: #2, #10, #20, #30, #40, #50, #60, #70, #80, #90, + Several Surprise Posts over post #90.

You'll GET $50 FROM ME VIA PAYPAL! Just PM me what reply number you were, and I'll confirm and send you the money.

RULES: You MUST provide content about driving traffic to your site in your reply. If you don't, you get nothing. You can only win once.

-NEW RULE: You can't post a bunch of times in a row just to hit the spot you need to win. I'll pick others in here to win too, so just give your tips

As said, I'll even extend this PAST the #90 reply post mark, I'll PM those who post the best content with $50 each via Paypal.

All I ask is for is a simple "thanks Nick Marks!" after I pay you

Note: In no way is this meant to be a raffle or anything. I'm not getting anything from this, other then giving away some cash, and providing good content for the forum. Just think of it as me paying you for good ideas.

Start now!

-Nick Marks

Squidoo! Works a treat every time - we sell ready made software products and our squidoo lenses have earned us a lot of money so far by posting articles about the software. We also use jonathan legers 1waylinks and 3waylinks to boost our search engine rankings - both these programs are recommended.

Blogging also works well - people find your site from long tail keywords you wouldn't have thought of in a million years - but you need to post regular daily or every other day blogs.

Aside from posting your articles in article directories, convert them to powerpoint then submit to slideshare.net.

Convert them to videos too and submit them to the video sharing sites using tubemogul.com

You may also combine them into a viral e-book and allow people to share them. Allow affiliates to rebrand it with their affiliate links so they'll have an incentive to pass the ebook to their list.

Videos submitted to youtube work really well, you can get some traffic from youtube directly and they also have good rankings in google.

If you are selling products, submit them to Google Base. If you offer a service like web design, submit your site to Google Local.

good way to generate traffic is social bookmarking a webpage as google picks this up quickly and drives traffic to your site almost imemdiately.

Crazy! It seems no one is interested in making some free money. Nick, I don't mind, you can send the $500 directly to my account

How about this for another traffic method: Link Baiting Using Articles

You write a list, like "10 things your Mom never taught you about money" or "10 simple rules for dating my daughter" (yeah, both of these are real articles done by other people) and then submit it to social bookmark sites - and if it catches it can go viral very quick.

One of the best sites to see how this works is SmashingMagazine who are constantly doing fantastic lists like "top 50 FREE gorgeous wordpress themes you've never seen before".

I always tell my content writers: if they can't think of something to write, write a top XX list - the Web 2.0 sites love it.

      Hi!

Action speaks louder than words so let me put in a picture of a search result with the top page that I dominated the 1st and 2nd result with links to my site.

the keyword is "WEBSITE FLIPPING BUY AND SELL"

in case the pic doesnt show up.

      heres the link to flikr

      http://www.flickr.com/photos/30716090@N03/2877910887/

I wrote an article on EZA then I searched for an ad site that has a high search ranking. I posted a free ad on it pointing to my blog. My Eza article also contained a link to my blog. I gave it about three weeks and whala! my articles link is on the top 2 out of 1.8 million.

The secret is going to a FREE ADS site that has a high ranking! this is my trade secret. Hope I win, I really need the dough man.

      Thanks,

    Two ways come to mind..

    1. Article Marketing

I'm not talking about just writing as many articles as you can, and submitting them to directories, but taking the time to write high quality content that includes meat and minus the filler.

One site that is not part of the internet marketing niche, I wrote one article for a webpage for that site, complete with original photos and content I wrote 100% myself. About 300 words.

Then, I went back through and tweaked it for OPSEO (on-page search engine marketing). I added 2 keywords to the header, page title and the page description.

Then, I cut that same article down to about 200 words, and placed this article at Ezine articles dot com.

In the bio box, I offered more information about the topic at my site, and set the author link to lead to the page where the original article is.

The original article includes ebooks about the topic being discussed, so the whole set up is designed to presell the ebook. Nice.

That single article is responsible for 3 to 6 visitors a day, and has the potential for even more.

    2. Affiliate Marketing

Seems like people here don't associate traffic with affiliate marketing, and that's a shame. I think it's one of the best, if not the best way to get traffic to your website.

If you set up a generous commission rate, with a great product that other people like, and you include bonuses with that product, people will tell other people about it.

The basic principle is word of mouth advertising. Other people that refer your product are telling others about your product. Since they are affiliates to your program, they get paid when they tell others about it, and that person buys the product.

Get enough people as affiliates, you can then lay off the SEO and other forms of getting traffic, and the whole system works much like a gold mining slew (that's a mining tool that you hook up to a stream. The water and dirt flows down, and any gold nuggets are left on the steps of the slew).

It takes a little while to set up, but once you have a decent affiliate program that provides:

    • Banners
    • Text Ads
    • Pre-Written email templates
    • Ezine Ads
    • Pre-Written Articles

You can have more traffic than you expected because others are doing all the promotional work for you. Thus, more traffic!

I am going to share 3 techniques here. First one is:

    Press Release Traffic:

Write a press release about your new product, new service, event, etc. Make sure you write it in a third person format. Make sure your press release is keyword optimized. (Find great keywords using Google's Free Keyword Tool). I would also include some good content within your press release.

Submit your press release to webwire.com for $19. This should get you in Google News.
Submit your press release using prleap.com for their basic $49 package.

    Peter
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[122513].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Peter Helps
    Second technique:

    Video Marketing Traffic:

Create a video of yourself on a webcam or record a screen using software such as CamStudio or Camtasia. Make sure you provide great content, include a watermark at the bottom of your video directing people back to your site and mention your site at least 3 times in your video. When mentioning your site, tell your visitors to perform some kind of an action and you’ll reward them with something free.

Submit to youtube and include your website url on the first line of your video description. Make sure you write your url like this: http://www.yoursite.com This will ensure that your url is clickable.

Comment on other people’s videos to get some piggyback action.

    Third traffic tip:

    Blog Posts on Steroids

When writing a blog post on your blog, implement this strategy. Important Note: Don't forget to do keyword research and implement your keyword/keyword phrase into your post).

    1. Record the blog post in an audio format using free software such as audacity. (You can either read the blog post or just speak into the mic and then have the mp3 transcribed into text for your blog post.) You can also use voice recognition software (comes free with Vista) or Dragon naturally speaking to transcribe it yourself.
    2. Record a video of your blog posts of either you speaking or recording a screeencast using screen recording software such a Camstudio or camtasia.
    3. So, after you do the above 2 steps, you should have 3 versions of your post: audio, video, and text.

    4. Now, post all of the above on your blog. Ping your blog post to all of the different ping services.
    5. Submit your video using http://www.tubemogul.com. Also, submit your mp3 to different audio syndication services including Itunes. You'll have to create accounts for all of them but it is well worth it.
    6. You can also social bookmark your post and your submissions on different sites.

This should get you a healthy boost in traffic and first page on Google if you target a good keyword.

    Hope this helps.

Easiest way to get traffic to your site and it takes almost no time at all.

      1. Create a blogger blog with a review to a product you own or affiliate
product you promote. Takes about 15 minutes. Make sure you have a sales
      link at bottom of review.

      2. Write a series of articles on the topic and submit them to Ezine Articles.
Make sure your resource box has a strong call to action to go to your blog
      and read the review.

Done. Do this everyday (15 minutes) and you'll have tons of traffic coming
in IF you target long tail keywords.

I do this everyday and it accounts for over $67,000 of income a year.

The best way to drive traffic to a blog is proper optimization.

So many people think that just because they put up a blog people will come.

That can not be further from the truth. You need to seo optimize your blog to get great traffic.

The first and easiest thing you can do is change your permalinks. This will put you ahead of many blogs out there.

A great way to generate traffic is to pay for ad space within Niche Forums.

Go and stand in front of the traffic I once heard a wise man say.

      For Example,
If you are promoting a Clay Modeling ebook then search for all the popular forums
within that niche. eg. "Clay Modeling +Forum".

Make sure the forum is active and has plenty of members.

Check the forum for text advertising and place your ad.

You will have to pay for your ad but it will be a very small price considering all
the targetted traffic you can drive..

            Here are a few tips:

Here's a tip that can get you a lot of visitors. It used to work only offline, but now, with so many podcasts on the Net, it also brings online traffic.

Find a radio talk show in your niche, and obtain an interview from the host. Especially if this is a daily show, they always need new guests, new relevant information, to have on the show. This can also establish you as an authority in your niche.

Do a search for podcasts in your niche, and do the same thing.

Find someone in your niche who clearly has a large list, and offer to do a teleseminar with them.

Become a guest author on a high traffic blog in your niche, and submit an article there every so often. If you can find several of these, it can bring a lot of traffic.

Another offline technique that brings targeted traffic: put one of those magnetic signs on your car, or a decal on the back windshield. This really works. I once worked with an insurance salesman who put something like "Affordable Health Insurance" along with his phone number on a large decal on his back windshield. He made sales every week to people who called him. A short, memorable domain instead of a phone number will bring you some visitors on a continuing basis. A word of warning here, though: if you use the magnetic signs, you might want to take them off when you leave your car, so that people don't take them. I can't for the life of me figure out why someone would want one, unless it is just so they don't have to remember the name themselves. You know, sort of like a big Post It note!
Anyway, when my hubby had one on his pickup truck, he stopped the pilfering by just moving the sign up to the roof whenever he left the truck. It only took a second to put it up there, and then put it back when he got back to the truck. These signs are good to use because they do not cost much - $25 to $50 - and continue to work as long as you want to use them. If you want to promote a different domain, just get a different sign. That way you don't pay the big bucks to have a permanent sign on the car, and then have to do it all over again for different domain promotions.

When using the social sites to promote your site, a shocking article or video is great link bait, and goes viral within a day. You just have to be careful about what it is you do for the shock value!

Causing a stir on a high traffic blog with your comments can bring a bunch of people. So can getting involved in the comment conversation with highly relevant and authoritative information.

You can write an article each day and submit it to as many directories as possible. Don't stop as this can generate great FREE traffic for months to come maybe even years.

You can also make a hubpage, blogger page and wordpress blog about your site making a review and get that page on the first page of google which is easy as long as you write it appropriately.

Traffic generation is nothing magical - mostly hard work.

The best tip I can offer is do your keyword research and find the right words. If your keywords are good you'll get traffic.

Then you either go free or paid. Free you would link articles and blogs to your page and then socially bookmark everything. Paid you look at PPC and advertising on niche sites.

Ok Nick, cool thread - good job.

Here are 4 techniques not mentioned above:

[1] If you have a normal Amazon buyer account, log in to Amazon and look up the bestselling books/products in your niche/s.

At the bottom of each of these bestseller pages, start a new Amazon discussion thread with your URL in the post and your best sales pitch, but modify it a little to relate to that particular product page.

This can't last - what does? - but Amazon is very lazy with these and they're unmoderated (as far as I can tell), hardly anybody uses these discussion areas on Amazon and I've seen my posts there turn up on Google (very high) in under 20 minutes.

You won't get much traffic heat from within Amazon but you will see results from Google.

[2] Another site that indexes very fast is ecademy.com (kind of a mini LinkedIn) and an ad on their 'Marketplace' will rank high and in minutes on Google. Ecademy's high Alexa ranking and constantly changing content are very attractive to Google.

[3] Use the free program from WebSiteZip Packer - Free Html to Exe, Ebook Compiler, E-book Publisher, Ebook Creator/Generator Software</font> and turn your articles and reports into self-executing .exe files and list them on download.com and tucows.com - great PR backlinks, I think and pretty viral.

Use your keyword phrase as the actual download product title for download.com etc.

[4] Write controversially-headlined (but fully substantiated) posts on forums in your niches.

These generate a lot of instant heat and discussion. On some forums (WF?), it's not uncommon for views to run into the thousands on the day of posting. It is link-baiting and the Luddites will attack but if you argue the sound case against something that is thought of as sacred wisdom, you will get traffic in seconds.

        Best regards

Some of my favourite ways to generate traffic are to setup some kind of program or system that is mostly automatic and long term. Here are a few ideas I like.

      1. Create a quick product, sell it as a WSO and encourage buyers to promote it using the $7 script. If it's good enough and you provide the right promo material, selling 100 copies of that one little report once can bring you traffic for over a year on auto pilot (and grow your list significantly).

      2. Create a WordPress theme which automatically includes a link to your site on the blogroll and another on the bottom (in the footer) giving yourself credit for the design. There are some people who have generated 1,000's of visitors a day doing this and now have PR8/9 websites.

      3. Create a killer PDF ebook or report, then sell it cheaply with master resell rights (and a link / promo for your website) and allow others to do the same, as long as they leave it intact.

      4. Trade links on thank you pages or in autoresponder messages with other marketers.

      5. Setup RSS feeds for your blogs etc. and submit them to popular blogging directories. It works a lot like article submission, except they'll download and post them automatically.

    Here's a little something I tried out.

    Traffic Exchanges.

Usually they are worth precisely squat, but what about those pages that get more exposure based on the number of hits they receive. I've had a good deal of success bumping my social networking bookmarks up the category pages just by putting the link into a traffic exchange.

The trick is in finding the ones that don't pick this up immediately(I'll leave that to you - can't give you EVERYTHING).

Hello , this is what i do with every new domain i have to get indexed quick and lots of traffic:
-Create a myspace profile named Yourdomain.com

-Submit 1 article to article directories with your keyword as the title

-Upload Videos with your url in the description to Myspace tv

-Create an Amazon AStore named Yourdomain-com

-Create a channel on Youtube using your keyword

-Post a topic on related forums with the keyword in the subject line. (try something like yourdomain.com may be for sale - anyone interested?)

-Create a Yahoo Group called Yourdomain-com

-Create a Google group called Yourdomain-com

-Create a Mybloglog account named yourdomain.com

-Use a social bookmarking program like BookMarking Demon

Upload video to AOL video with the title yourdomain.com and your url in the description

-You can also get the RSS feed from your blog or get one with Dapper then submit the rss to major aggregators like RSS feed Directory - Feedage.com (this works better with long tail keywords under 30k comp)

then repeat for every new article and domain and enjoy lots of traffic ,good luck.

Don't think this has been touched on yet, but here goes.

Magazines and Newspapers (Not Press Releases)

Undoubtedly, everyone knows that a good Press Release is a great thing. But there is one even better way to use the power of newspapers to generate traffic.

The Theory: Most newspapers and magazines, local or otherwise, operate both offline and online versions. Presumably, if they were willing to publish your articles along with a link (hyperlink in online, and just regular ol' ink on plain ol' paper offline), you'd tap into the best of both worlds.

How Hard Is It: Easier said than done, but remarkably not-time-consuming. Most newspaper and magazine editors seem to be more willing to publish a link if it does not lead directly to a sales pitch or any other very obvious sales-oriented website. If you're operating a decent website with good content, they don't seem to mind too much.

How To Go About It: Spend a few minutes emailing editors of newspapers proposing your idea of publishing a good article somewhere in their newspaper provided they link back to you. Try to tie it in to their existing format, i.e. if they have a special on 'Health' on Tuesdays and that's related to your niche then suggest an article that would suit that. If an editor agrees, just be sure that you can produce what you promised.

Advantages: Should be clear-cut. You'd get advertising offline and online in one sure stroke, and if it is a reputable paper or magazine then probably the back link won't hurt your search engine rankings either.

      -Vish.

I have always been very fond of using traffic exchanges for generating traffic to my sites. The most cost effective form of marketing that you can find. I consolidate my advertising to a splash page, get it on the sites that have the deepest lists and let the hit counter begin! When the credits expire (are used up) you can easily purchase several hundred hits for just a few dollars. This allows you to expand your marketing efforts into other TE's.

There are some run down areas not far from where I live with a lot of single mothers
who are desperate for extra work.

You can market to this group using offline methods bringing these customers online.

    For example,

You could set up a eBay training Course teaching single parent mothers how to make

Tips to Increase Ranking and Website Traffic

It is worth cataloguing the basic principles to be enforced to increase website traffic and search engine rankings.

    • Create a site with valuable content, products or services.
    • Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25 words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.
    • Research and use the right keywords/phrases to attract your target customers.
    • Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page. Like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.
    • Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.
    • Submit your web pages i.e. every web page and not just the home page, to the most popular search engines and directory services. Hire someone to do so, if required. Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.

    Mmm..
Another Traffic Tips from me.. Hire some ppl on digital point or anywhere else for only 0.10/post to post on some niche forum related to your niche.. Make sure you give them hints before giving them the job.. Give them the job that suits their interest + you want to tell them that low quality post wont count.
Ask them to put your site on their signature ( You want to create the accout yourself and create and eye catchy signature yourself as well)

I get hell lot of traffic only by using this method..

or you can apply the same method for blog commenting

or create a thread like this to get a lot of exposure and buzz in the forum..

**and Hopefully ppl are paying attention to your signature

** EDIT ** This post above was originally made in order to get a place holder at the desired
position and then after getting the position, replaced with what is there now.

If these marketers could be as creative with their businesses as they are in trying to score 50

The WSO section can also be a great way of getting traffic. I haven't done this one myself, but I've seen it done brilliantly a few times by a few warriors.

Create a product that would sell for $47 or more. Pay your $20 bucks and then give it away to build your list. The best example I saw of this was a product that went through the wealth creation process, you signed up for the list to get it and then the autoresponder sequence just offered more and more upsells. Starting at resell rights for the report(including affiliate links and trackbacks to the signup page for MORE traffic) through to personal coaching at several thousand dollars.

    • Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.
    • Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.
    • Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.
    • Make your customer visit easy and give them plenty of ways to remember you in the form of newsletters, free reports, reduction coupons etc.
    • Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.
    • When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.
    • When not sure, hire professionals. Though it may seem costly, but it is a lot less expensive than spending your money on a website which no one visits.
    • Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location, just like your real store to which your customers with the same seriousness.

One of the best ways of getting traffic is actually KEEPING the traffic you do get. You can set up an autoresponder easily. Go to a free ebook site and look for a 50-tips or 400 tips or whatever title in your niche. Each of those tips is the basis for a new autoresponder post for you.

Now you not only have traffic coming into your site - but traffic coming BACK to your site.

An affiliate marketer may have all the things needed for him to be able to succeed in a business such as affiliate marketing. He may have the necessary drive, diligence and perseverance to be able to understand how the system works. He may have all the tools necessary in maintaining the business, including a really unique and interesting website which could earn him a fortune if only the whole world could see it. However, all these would prove useless if he does not know how to drive traffic to his website. His business would sink into oblivion together with all the sales, fortune and dreams that he might have realized if he only knew how to do this particular task.

Getting people who matter to see one’s website is a difficult undertaking if he tries to consider the fact that there are rivals everywhere waiting to pin him down. The immensity of the internet as well as the affiliate marketing world has given birth to the fierce competition between affiliate marketers, each of whom has his own great product to offer. With all the websites piling on top of each other, how would one be able to stand out? The seven best ways to drive laser-targeted traffic to one’s own website would help those who are bent on sticking it out with this business wherever it is bound to take them.

The first step in driving traffic to one’s website is by relying on search engines and what they can do for the affiliate marketer concerned. Because they are popular for driving free targeted traffic, they should not be ignored by all means. Having top search engine rankings is vital in building popularity links, and the use of the right keywords is important in attaining this goal. Once a website is on top of the list, it is easily accessible to anyone who wants to see it for himself.

The second way in driving traffic to one’s website is by contacting other webmasters for a possible link exchange partnership. Locating websites that are related to one’s own website is the primary task. Once there, he should be able to establish communication by personalizing everything as much as possible. It is then possible to make reciprocal link exchanges between webmasters whichever way the affiliate marketer prefers.

The third way is through writing one’s own articles. This is an effective way in promoting a website, because good content that are appreciated by readers will lead them to visit the writer’s very own website out of sheer interest.

The fourth way is through joint venture marketing. This is one of the most effective ways of promoting a product or a service. Having a partner through ad swap or link exchange is beneficial to both parties as it allows them to reach a wide customer base in a short amount of time.

The fifth is through joining affiliate programs. Having affiliates to do the work means allowing them to bring tons of traffic to a website. Skyrocketing sales would be realized as a result, and both the affiliate and the website owner will benefit from the situation.

The sixth is by having a list of subscribers that one can refer to every so often, because they are those which would prove to be valuable assets for the marketer concerned. The use of autoresponders and personalized newsletters is one way of keeping track of them all, and holding on to them by letting them know about new products and services is an essential task that should be done by the affiliate marketer concerned.

The seventh is by knowing one’s market through and through. It is important for traffic to be targeted to those who might have a special interest in the theme or topic of one’s website. This way, a solid customer base is going to be created. Once a potential customer shows an interest in a particular website by paying it a visit, one must not waste time in trying to show him that his effort is worth it.

Traffic generating strategies are important in trying to make one’s affiliate marketing career inch forward. It is always advantageous to plan one’s moves in any business that he might undertake. This is particularly so in affiliate marketing. If one knows how to get people to see what he has to offer, then he is on the right track.

        Hey Steve,

Some people will see this tread like yourself and not understand it and others will see this as a great thing. I'm doing two things here:

        1. I'm giving back to the warrior forum community. $50 to some people is a lot of money. I know the people I paid are happy with what I've done here.

        2. Members are all giving great content in one place about traffic tips. Sure, you'll see some bad posts here and there, but there's also some great content here.

Forum marketing can be an effective strategy to build your business on the internet.

One great advantage of forum marketing is that you'll get valuable backlinks to your website or blog. Another benefit is that forum members will click on the link on your sig file if they're interested; even non-members will also see your sig if the thread is picked up by the search engines.

The more forum posts you make, the more backlinks you get, and the more popular your site becomes with your search terms.

Here's some excellent forum marketing tips to maximize the moneymaking potential of forums:

              1) Read the forum rules carefully. All forums have their own specific policies and regulations. A certain action might be acceptable in one forum, while it may violate the rules of another forum, even if both forums have the same theme.

For example, some forums allow graphics or colored text in your sig file, while some don't. Some forums may allow mature language, while some don't.

              2) If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. I know how tempting it is to voice out your feelings and practice your freedom of speech; but if you want to be a member in good standing and build good relationships with other forum members, think twice before posting anything.

Sometimes, we simply cannot avoid offending others, so make sure you apologize once you realized you've upset anyone. It's noble to admit your mistakes.

              3) Include an attractive sig file. Some forums have certain unique rules you must observe when it comes to putting your sig files. Some don't allow affiliate links in the sig files (but a link to your website or blog where you're promoting an affiliate product is fine). Some forums allow graphics or colored text in your sig file, while some don't.

Some forums don't allow you to put any sig file at all; personally, I think it's a waste of time posting at them unless you're enjoying, learning, or helping others. If you're unsure, you may lurk around to see if others are putting in their sig files. If others are not doing it, then there's a good chance including a sig file may not be appropriate. Some of the forum members may even think you're spamming. So read the rules and observe other posts carefully.

              4) Adjust to the forum's atmosphere and attitude. Blend in like a chameleon and write the way they write, so they'll feel right away that you're part of the group.

              5) Help others by giving sound advice based on your knowledge or expertise, or by researching on the solution to their problem. With the availability of the internet, you have the capacity to find unlimited information that you desire to know. By posting helpful tips or advice, you'll earn their respect and admiration.

              6) If possible, be the first to start a thread on the most talked about or most in-demand topic, and give related tips or techniques that will "turn heads". Remember to write an eye-catching thread title, but not one that misleads.

              7) Don't sell or promote anything. That's your sig file's job. If the members are asking anything and your site or free report is in line with the subject of discussion, you may subtlely mention it as long as it's helpful and not promotional in nature.

              8) Show your appreciation and thank people who have helped you. In the Warriors forum, they even put a beer icon (oops, it's been removed) that allows you to send money to a member. It's a good way to give back when someone helps you out.

              Hope this helps,
              Michael

10 MASSIVE Tips to get FREE Traffic to your website

              1. write 1 article a day and submit it to ezine articles, you can also mass submit the articles using isnare or article marketer or you can even use any of the mass submission software now available and mass submit it yourself

              2. Find forums relevent to your niche and try to make at least 5 good posts a day, when doing this make sure your signature is attractive enough to make people click and make you check the rules of the forum, for instance the warrior forum does not allow affiliate links.

              3. Create a video and submit it to youtube and to as many video sites as you can, make sure the video is good enough to get people to come to your main site. You can also optimize the title of your video to target a long tail keyword, that way you get even more free traffic from the search engines, the search engines love videos and they tend to rank them very well

              4. Create a squidoo lens, as you probably know squidoo is one of the sites google like, so create a squidoo lens on a topic related to your niche and do a little seo on it to make it rank well

              5. Submit your site to as many social bookmarking and social network sites as possible and you should be able to get good free traffic, just ensure that you choose the right categories and that you make the title of your story very interesting.

              6. Submit press releases, not all sites charge you to submit press releases just do a google search for free press release websites and you would get tons of sites where you can submit free press releases to drive traffic to your website

              7. Have a signature in your email whenever you send it to anybody, the traffic you would get from this might not be targeted but at least it is free

              8. Create a free hub using husbpages, this is another site google likes and if you do a little bit of seo you should be able to rank for just about any keyword

              9. Leave comments on other peoples blog related to your niche, try to make sure you are among the first people to leave a comment and you should be able to get even more traffic. Also make your comment as interesting as possible so that people interested in you thereby making them click on the link to come to your site.

10 Give true and honest testimonial to other people in your niche, this way when they put it on their salespage usually with your website address you should be able to get a lot of free traffic depending on who the person you gave the testimonial to and how much traffic his or her site gets

              Cheers

Here are more tips to maximize the profitability of ezine solo ads:

                  1) The subject line is the most important part. They won't read the rest of your solo ad if the subject line is not interesting enough to grab their attention and entice them to read further.

                  2) Write the most hypnotic and benefit-laden words in all caps, but don't overdo it. This will allow the reader to take more notice of the words in all caps. For example, you could say, "This BLOWOUT offer will end after 48 hours, so GRAB IT NOW if you want to take advantage of one of the best deals ever." If they're only skimming, they will at least see, "BLOWOUT...GRAB IT NOW."

                  3) Create a sense of urgency and scarcity. An example would be telling the readers that the offer is limited to the first 10 (or whatever number you decide) customers only, or up to a certain date or time.

                  4) Format the ad up to 60 characters only for a more convenient reading experience. You may use a free service like formatit.com.

                  5) Follow the short paragraph rule. Short paragraphs make it easier for the eyes of the reader and are easier to understand. Paragraph should be a maximum of 4 lines only.

                  6) Add the most convincing testimonials if they can add "power" to the solo ad.

                  7) Make your ezine solo ad short in scope, if possible. The longer the ad, the more prone it is to be caught by the email filters. Treat the solo ad as a teaser that directs the reader to visit the sales letter. However, a long solo ad is not a bad idea if it's necessary, as long as you pass it through a dependable spam filter.

                  8) Put a "PS" or two that contains the biggest benefit or strongest call to action.

                  9) Make sure the solo ad passes through a reliable spam filter. If the person sending the solo ad has a sophisticated autoresponder (like aweber), your ezine solo ad can be checked for any spam-triggering words before being broadcasted.

                  10) Advertise only in ezines or newsletters that are identical to the topic of the affiliate product you're promoting. Here are recommended sources where you can place your ezine solo ads or negotiate with ezine publishers:

Just curious, but don't you have to pay for ezine ads?

                    Steven,

That's one of the best posts I've seen about writing (I bet it took him about 2 seconds to write all that), but what does it have to do with free traffic?

I guess people are winning no matter what the topic is now, or did I miss something?

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great, and this thread has lots of useful information. But I feel kind of stupid sitting here for 20 minutes trying to think of ways to create free traffic that know one has mentioned yet, when maybe I should have been doing something else.

Grant, it has nothing to do with traffic. I posted it because I wanted to
contribute something that's actually useful with all the garbage posts that
I've seen here by people just to make a buck. I have no idea why I was
picked as a winner since I was post number 131 anyway and didn't post
it to win anything. I don't need the 50 bucks. I just wanted to add
something that will actually help people.

Who Nick gives his money to is his business, but I do believe his picking
my post was in error as I am sure he will see when he double checks.

                          Big thanks to you.

You should of set this up slightly different.

You should have paid $50 to the top ten posters
and this would of made the posts a little more

That's probably the easiest 50 bucks I ever made. Then again, on second
thought, that post took a very long time to write up.

Steven, are you telling me that you actually kept Nick's $50?

Why not? He wanted to give it to me. If somebody walks up to you on the
street and hands you a $50 bill are you going to hand it back to them?

I'm stupid, but I'm not THAT stupid.

                                    Testing keywords:

In a youtube video put the SAME keyword your targeting in the description.
You'll usually get a top 3 place in Google with this technique.

Or use the same keywords that other videos in your niche are using
(and are ranking highly for) and you'll appear in the 'related video section'.

                                    To do this:
                                    Go to my account,
                                    My videos,
                                    Edit videos.

                                    Thanks,
                                    Colin

No one has mentioned Free Classified Sites, and I assume it's because of all the recent changes...But you can generate a ton of traffic from places like USfreeads, backpage, craigslist, etc.

I manage to get 100 or more leads a week from them for my money making site(s).

If you aren't interested in posting yourself on these sites you can simply outsource the work.

If you are then a few unique posts per day on these sites and a few others and you generate a lot of targeted traffic. If you're promoting CPA offers, then some other steps needed to be taken into account, but if you're promoting biz opp's or money making products, etc. you'll do great.

Okay, if I had no list, no site, and no money, just a credit
card that wasn't maxed out...and I had to start all over
from scratch today and could NOT get into the make money
online niche, here is EXACTLY what I would do today.

Get your pens and pads out cause this is gonna be a long one.

Step 1 - I would spend 1 week just surfing the Internet
looking to see what was around. I'd follow news stories,
gossip, or whatever, just to get a feel for the current
climate. This way I may be alerted to niches that are either
potentially lucrative or ones that I need to keep away from
at all costs, such as if changes in laws or current economic
or political conditions make those niches tough to crack.

Step 2 - I would then write down anything that I either
currently have a knack for or an interest it, along with
anything that I find while surfing in week 1 that I might
decide I want to tackle. I'll go over this list everyday for
a week, during which time I will do the following steps.

Step 3 - I'll go to forums and discussion groups for
each niche to see what people are talking about. I'll try to
get a feel for any problems that each niche is faced with and
try to think of any way that I can personally offer a solution
                    for that problem.

Step 4 - I will look to see if any of the solutions
that I have come up with are currently available. I will
check Clickbank, PayDotCom, Amazon, Commission Junction and
other marketplaces to see what is out there. I will also
check to see what PPC ads are being run for these niches.

Step 5 - Finally, I will do my keyword research and
competing sites research to see how much opportunity is out
there by comparing weekly and monthly search stats to number
of competing sites. I will go over these figures for at least
a week before I even decide which niche I am going to tackle.

** NOTE ** I will also pick a backup niche. I will explain
the reason for this later. I said I had no money, no site,
no list, but I didn't say I had no knowledge. I go into this
with everything I have learned up to this point, otherwise
I wouldn't be able to make this plan in the first place.

                    Make sense?

Step 6 - I will make my decision and also pick my
backup niche. Now is where I begin to put my plan of attack
into operation starting with mapping out everything I am
going to do so that I don't leave anything out. Yes, you
MUST write all of it down. You are running a business and
making a comprehensive business plan. So the first step from
                    here is...

Step 7 - Decide on how much you want to earn in what
period of time and how much you plan to spend in order to
make that amount of money. Also, I would set a time frame for
how long I will wait until I am making the amount of money
I plan to make. If it doesn't happen in that time frame, I
scrap the whole project. Again, I know what I am doing so if
it turns out this niche isn't profitable (yes, you CAN pick a
dud) then I am going to cut my losses and move on to my
                    alternate plan.

                    Step 8 - I decide on a domain name and a hosting
company that I am going to use. Naturally, all of this has
been thoroughly researched as well to get the best name
available and to get hosting that will fit my needs and my
                    budget.

Step 9 - I will sign up with Aweber. I have learned
that a good autoresponder service is gold. Anybody who doesn't
see this is daft. Trust me, at one time, I was daft.

Step 10 - I will begin to create my content. I will
start with the actual product itself. Since my skills are
writing, I will make it an ebook. I feel I can do best with
an ebook. You have to do what you feel you're best at.

Step 11 - I will then work on my autoresponder series.
This also must be completely thought out. I need to know
what I am going to say in each installment of the series.
                    Nothing is left to chance.

Step 12 - I write up a free report to give away in
                    order to get opt ins.

Step 13 - I either create my squeeze page or outsource
it. Since I have no money, unless the designer takes a CC, I
will have to do this myself. Not a problem. I have done my
own so far with decent success.

Step 14 - I will either create the sales page for my
product or outsource it. Again, same criteria as above. When
I set up my web form in Aweber, I will have the opt in sent
to my sales page from the squeeze page.

Step 15 - I will submit my sales page to Clickbank and
                    wait for approval.

Step 16 - After the sales page is approved, THEN I will
start working on actual promotion. No point in doing it until
then because there's nothing to promote.

Step 17 - I will also assume that since I have no money
or anything else, that I also don't have a reputation behind
me, so there is little chance of me getting big names to
promote my product. Besides, I'm not in the IM niche anyway
so I'd be looking elsewhere for JVs anyway. So step 17 will
begin with my actual promotion of my squeeze page, NOT my
                    sales page.

                    Why?

Because I am looking to earn my prospects' trust first. So I
want to give them as much content as I can before I start to
                    try to sell to them.

Step 18 - I will begin to write articles...as many as
I can for my niche and submit them to Ezine Articles ONLY. I
don't want to waste a lot of time and I have found from my
own experience that EZA gives me the best results.

Step 19 - Because this is a non IM niche, safelists and
FFA Hosting and all that stuff that is great for the IM niche,
is going to be worthless to me now. So my next step is to
hunt out as many forums as I can for this niche to frequent.

Remember, as part of my research, I already found these. If I
hadn't I would NOT have targeted this niche. That is why
research is so important. I will frequent these forums and
add to the discussion just as I have here, thus earning the
trust of at least a few members. I will give them as much
info as I can about the niche without giving everything away
so that they don't have to buy the product.

Here is where it helps if your product is less about information
and more about something that actually does something, like a
piece of software. That way, you can give out as much info as
you like. They still need the software to solve their problem.

                    Step 20 - I'd pick up Camtasia, or if I couldn't afford
it, Camstudio. Again, I have a credit card.

Step 21 - I'd make videos related to my niche and submit
them to YouTube. I'd try to do a video a week. More if I can.
Make sure you have a long section at the end of the video (about
10 seconds at least) showing the URL of your site.

Step 22 - I will go to as many sites like Digg and
Stumbleupon as I can. I want to get the word out about my
free report to as many people as possible.

Step 23 - I will begin to search the Internet for
authority sites in my niche that aren't in direct competition
with me. I will look for a contact us link and write to them.
I will explain my product, explain that it has a XX% commission
and ask them if they'd be interested in promoting it. Of course
I will target the sites at the top of the SEs first and work my
                    way down.

Step 24 - I will seek out ezines in my niche. I will
write to the owners and ask them if in exchange for a series
of articles that I write for them, if I could run a solo ad.
I'd even offer to let them run it with their affiliate link
for my product. Go out of your way to make it as appealing to
                    them as possible.

Step 25 - I will set up a blog on my domain for this
niche and start to post some articles there. I want to build
my blog up as an authority site of sorts. I will not monetize
this with Adsense because that isn't my model. I'm not giving
away my traffic for pennies when I have a product to sell.

Step 26 - I will set a daily routine for article writing
and whatever other advertising I am going to do. I want to get
into a routine and also get an idea of what my conversion is.

Step 27 - If I see that the conversion is good using
the free methods that I am using, then I will start to tackle
                    Adwords.

Now think about this. My site is ALREADY indexed by Google. So
getting good cpc should not be too hard. Why tackle Adwords at
the start when your site has no clout on the SEs yet? To me, it
                    doesn't make sense.

Srep 28 - I will monitor things for 6 months and see how
profitable they are. If they're very profitable, I will then
sink more money into Adwords and other paid forms of advertising
and I will then think about if I can come up with an upsell
product. As opposed to IM, this will take me some thought, but
nonetheless, I will work on it.

If the niche is only somewhat profitable, and again, this is
all based on my business plan at the start of this all, then I
will not chuck it, but begin to work on my backup plan slowly.

If the niche is a complete failure, I will scrap it and go
through the same steps above for my backup niche.

Now, if my niche site was VERY profitable...I would THEN come
to the IM niche with solid proof of my success in other niches,
thus asserting myself as an authority on Internet marketing
and thus having a very easy time gaining the trust of others
and thus having a very easy time making a nice living in the
                    IM niche...if I choose to.

That's it. That's what I would do if I were starting over from
                    scratch.

Now, I can absolutely say that the above works because I do make
money in other niches besides IM. I don't spend as much time
on them so they're not as profitable as I could make them, but
my ROI is off the charts considering what I spend.

Yesterday I started work on my next ebook. It was about 53
pages when completed. Yes, I finished it in one business day.

                    Then I got to thinking...

There are people who come here and report that they're working
on their ebook for several months and can't get it done.

                    Honestly, this boggles my mind.

Anyway, I'm going to share a few tips, while they may seem
basic to those of you who don't have this problem, for those
who can't seem to get anything done, this might help speed up
                    the process.

Step 1 - Do all your research for the book FIRST. Don't
start writing ONE thing until you know EVERYTHING that is going
                    to go in the book.

Step 2 - Take all the notes from your research and put
them in one place, such as a word doc or whatever. Try to
arrange them in a logical sequence, close to what you'd have
                    the book be in.

Step 3 - Write down an outline in chapter form of
everything that is going to be in the book BEFORE you start
writing. This should include everything from the introduction
                    to the closing.

Step 4 - Following your outline, write the book ONE
CHAPTER AT A TIME. Pretend that the chapter you are working
on is the WHOLE book. That way you won't feel so overwhelmed
by the thought of having to complete a 50 to 100 page book.
As each chapter is completed, scratch it off your outline.

So if you have an outline of 10 chapters, even if you only do
ONE CHAPTER A DAY, you'll have that book finished in 10 days
                    and not 10 months.

Step 5 - Proofread each chapter as you write it. That
way the proofreading part won't seem so overwhelming. Who wants
to sit down and read a 50 page book in one sitting?

Step 6 - When the book is finished, make your PDF.

                    That's it...done.

A 100 page book of 25 chapters shouldn't take you more than a
month to finish just doing a chapter a day.

If you break it down like this and don't let the enormity of
the project as a whole get to you, you'll find that you're
able to crank out material at breakneck speed.

Okay, now that I have given you the outline, let's go through
a fictional example. Don't worry, I'm not going to write a
whole book here, just the shell.

Let's say our book is going to be on "How To Cure Acne In 3
                    Days...Naturally."

Okay, we're already done our research on what acne is, what
causes it and we know our cure because we discovered it.

                    Time to write our book.

Here is the very simple outline.

                    Introduction
Chapter 1 - What Is Acne?
Chapter 2 - What Causes Acne?
Chapter 3 - What Are The Traditional Acne Treatments?
Chapter 4 - How Can You Cure Acne Naturally? (overview)
Chapter 5 - The Steps For Curing Your Acne Naturally
Chapter 6 - Maintenance For Keeping Acne Away Permanently
                    Conclusion

That's it. That's our ebook. It's probably going to be about
                    35 to 50 pages.

So the first thing you do is write your intro.

"The purpose of this book is to give you a natural way to
fight your acne and cure it forever...etc."

This shouldn't be more than a page.

Next, you write Chapter 1 - What Is Acne?

                    "Acne is a condition that...etc."

You don't go into what causes it here or any treatments or
anything like that. Just tell WHAT it is.

Next you write Chapter 2 - What Causes Acne?

                    "Acne is caused by...etc."

This will probably take you about 3 pages to go into all the
causes of acne, including diet, dirt, etc. Again, you only
                    talk about the causes...nothing else.

Next you write Chapter 3 - What Are Traditional Treatments.

"Acne is commonly treated by using...etc."

There are tons of treatments for acne. You could write a book
on these alone. Keep it to about 5 pages. Talk about nothing
else other than how acne is traditionally treated.

Next you write Chapter 4 - How Can You Cure Acne Naturally?

"Acne can easily be cured naturally by...etc."

Just tell them HOW it can be cured but don't go into the
actual procedure yet. This is kind of like a teaser. You can
do this in a page or 2.

Next you write Chapter 5 - The Steps For Curing Acne Naturally

                    "Step 1 - ..."

That's how you do this section...step by step. You want to
make it as simple as possible to understand. You do not
discuss anything else here other than the actual steps.

This is probably going to be about 3 pages.

Next you write Chapter 6 - Maintenance For Keeping Acne Away

"In order to keep your acne from coming back...etc."

You may then want to write what follows in step by step form
as you did in chapter 5.

This will probably be a page or 2.

                    Next you write the conclusion.

"If you follow the steps in this book...etc."

You might want to recap some of what you discussed. Maybe
                    start out with something like...

"Acne is a problem that affects millions of people. Traditional
                    medicine only...etc."

                    You get the idea.

Write your ebooks using this outline and you should never have
trouble completing any book in less than a month.

                    Hope this helps.

Tips to Get Repeat Web Traffic

    1. Update the pages on your website frequently. Stagnant sites are dropped by some search engines. You can even put a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated.

    2. Offer additional value on your website. For affiliates and partners you can place links to their sites and products and ask them to do the same for you. You can also advertise their books or videos, if these products relate to your industry and are not in competition with your own product.

    3. You can allow customers to ‘opt in’ to get discounts and special offers. Place a link on your site to invite customers to ‘opt in’ to get a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.

    4. Add a link to your primary page with a script ‘Book Mark or Add this site to your Favorites’.

    5. Add a link ‘Recommend this site to a Friend’ so that the visitor can email your website link, with a prewritten title, “Thought you might be interested in this”, just by clicking on it.

    6. Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us’ link on each page.

    7. Create a ‘Our Policies’ page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles in dealing with your customers. Also post your privacy policy as well so that clients know they are secure when they visit your site.

    8. Create a FAQ page which addresses most of the doubts and clarifications about your product or your company that are likely to be asked. This helps to resolve most of the customers doubts in their first visit to your site.

    8. Ensure that each page on your website has appropriate titles and keywords so that your customer can find their way back to your site if they lose the book mark.

    9. Never spam a client, who has opted for newsletters, with unsolicited emails. Later if they decide they want to ‘opt out’ of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still come back if they like your products. But they will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box with mails they no longer wish to receive.

7 Ways to Leave Comments and Drive Traffic Back to Your Blog

People say that to make an impression, you’ll have to open your mouth. While that is physically impossible in the virtual world of the Internet, saying your piece is not entirely difficult to do. Thanks to forums and discussion boards, you can leave a comment or start a discussion thread about virtually any topic from anywhere in the world. And yes, you can even leave comments to drive traffic to your blog and increase your readership.

    Leaving effective comments

You’re probably old enough to know that not every comment that gets thrown into an opportunity for interaction creates the desired effect, much less become appreciated by those who hear or read it. If you don’t use this technique carefully, you will either waste the opportunity or simply allow it to create the wrong impression. Here are 7 ways you ought to do it:

Choose the sites you leave comments on

Ever wondered why Tiger Woods is great? Because he chooses his battles well. You’ll never find Woods swinging his club at a lesser known tournament – not because he’s a snob but because he focuses on the games that truly matter and on being on equal ground with other greats.

Keep this in mind before you leave comments on a website. Just because you have the burning need to drive traffic to your blog doesn’t mean you can just drop by a site – any site – and write there.

Choose the sites and blogs whose forums you participate with. Find out if the site deals with a topic or subject related to your very own blog. Practice only purposeful commenting – the kind where you leave only well-crafted comments on sites that will help build the buzz about your blog.

If the site is completely irrelevant but you have the urge to leave a comment, do so only during your spare time. Otherwise, focus your energies only on more productive activities.

    Know what you’re saying

Before you leave a comment with the purpose of driving traffic to your blog, at least write one that is useful. Your goal is to be noticed AND respected for your opinions so leaving useless and dead end comments such as ‘Cool!’ and ‘Way to go!’ just won’t cut it.

If this is the best you can do, forget about leaving comments right now and focus on other strategies to drive traffic to your blog. Better avoid this technique than be embarrassed or be viewed as lame or mediocre.

But if you can write and have something meaningful to say, by all means, do so. With every comment you have, make sure you keep it short, concise, to the point and useful. Talk about relevant topics and avoid those that will do nothing for your purpose.

    Avoid strong language

Of course, some sites will probably allow you to leave comments that are strongly worded or at least camouflaged as symbols such as !#$%&*, but there are ways to get your point across, regardless of how angry, upset or argumentative you are.

Furthermore, majority of sites and blogs impose certain regulations that restrict the use of certain words. Try to rephrase a sentence without losing its main thought. Use an online thesaurus, if necessary. Remember that once a comment is posted online, there’s no way to get it back especially if it’s not your site. You can leave that comment there to rot but you can never take it back.

    Do not be rude

Have a sense of humor. The Internet is a vast expanse of space, currently limitless. In fact, it’s a whole universe unto itself. If people leave comments on your post that seem to insult you or argue with you, don’t fight back without thinking.

First of all, we are a democracy and people have every right to their own opinion. Second, firing back with the same kind of idiotic language will not be a good reflection on you. Third, you’re way better than that. If you must defend your stand, do so with class.

    Calm down

Please, if you must drive traffic to your blog by leaving comments on other websites, keep it professional and tone it down. DON’T LEAVE MESSAGES LIKE THIS ONE!!!!!!

A good rule of thumb is to follow accepted structure of the English language or whatever language it is you’re using to post. If you must use exclamatory points, make sure they are truly needed. Otherwise, avoid them.

Leaving comments written in purely bold or capitalized letter smacks of desperation and unprofessionalism. It’s hardselling and makes people stay away in droves.

    Check replies to your blogs

Maximize commenting on other sites and drive traffic by frequently checking back on the forum you participated in to see if there are any replies to the post you left. This is a good way to build buzz and network.

    Check your facts

If you will be quoting someone or citing a certain study, make sure your facts can be corroborated. Don’t use make believe or newly invented figures and statements or even half-truths and try to pass them off as legit. You will be exposed. If you want to drive traffic to your blog by leaving comments, make sure you don’t tarnish your reputation with the effort.

    1. Use lists.
    2. Be topical... write posts that need to be read right now.
    3. Learn enough to become the expert in your field.
    4. Break news.
    5. Be timeless... write posts that will be readable in a year.

    11. Don't write about your cat, your boyfriend or your kids.
    12. Write long, definitive posts.
    13. Write about your kids.
    14. Be snarky. Write nearly libelous things about fellow bloggers, daring them to respond (with links back to you) on their blog.
    15. Be sycophantic. Share linklove and expect some back.
    16. Include polls, meters and other eye candy.
    17. Tag your posts. Use del.ico.us.
    18. Coin a term or two.
    19. Do email interviews with the well-known.
    20. Answer your email.
    21. Use photos. Salacious ones are best.
    22. Be anonymous.

    24. Post your photos on flickr.
    25. Encourage your readers to subscribe by RSS.
    26. Start at the beginning and take your readers through a months-long education.
    27. Include comments so your blog becomes a virtual water cooler that feeds itself.
    28. Assume that every day is the beginning, because you always have new readers.
    29. Highlight your best posts on your Squidoo lens.
    30. Point to useful but little-known resources.
    31. Write about stuff that appeals to the majority of current blog readers--like gadgets and web 2.0.
    32. Write about Google.
    33. Have relevant ads that are even better than your content.
    34. Don't include comments, people will cross post their responses.
    35. Write posts that each include dozens of trackbacks to dozens of blog posts so that people will notice you.
    36. Run no ads.
    37. Keep tweaking your template to make it include every conceivable bell or whistle.
    38. Write about blogging.
    39. Digest the good ideas of other people, all day, every day.
    40. Invent a whole new kind of art or interaction.
    41. Post on weekdays, because there are more readers.
    42. Write about a never-ending parade of different topics so you don't bore your readers.
    43. Post on weekends, because there are fewer new posts.
    44. Don't interrupt your writing with a lot of links.
    45. Dress your blog (fonts and design) as well as you would dress yourself for a meeting with a stranger.
    46. Edit yourself. Ruthlessly.
    47. Don't promote yourself and your business or your books or your projects at the expense of the reader's attention.
    48. Be patient.
    49. Give credit to those that inspired, it makes your writing more useful.
    50. Ping technorati. Or have someone smarter than me tell you how to do it automatically.
    51. Write about only one thing, in ever-deepening detail, so you become definitive.
    52. Write in English.
    53. Better, write in Chinese.
    54. Write about obscure stuff that appeals to an obsessed minority.
    55. Don't be boring.
    56. Write stuff that people want to read and share.

For every article you write, convert it to a youtube clip and make sure (just like the articles) you have a good keyword strong title.

If you can make an article clip every day and get 100 viewers which averages 2 clicks to your URL in the video info box, in a few months you'll have an average of 200 uniques a day

Great thread, I won't count the posts to see if I've won, I'll just await the exciting PM notification

Boy did he deserve it, I loved that post - it was the best tutorial on how to actually write an ebook that I've seen yet!

There is a reason that Steven is so successful - he gives away quality information and people notice that.

      Thanks,

This has worked gangbusters for some of my clients. It is almost worht 100 visitors for some of them. I got Kansieo's caffeinated content plugin, and set it up to post once a day for about 4 months. I spidered the website and set up the plugin to show a random link from the site in each post.

Then I exported teh RSS feed from that site and imported it into a few Wordpress dot com blogs. Then I made some squidoo lenses and hubpages and used mashed up RSS feeds in them.

Then I make sure I ping everything often.

This has worked pretty well. I went from a new domain in June to between 100 and (now) 150 uniques a day. Not just spiders either. Pretty stodgy, non IM niche too.

This really isn't FREE traffic because it costs about $20 to do it...

I laid down a 20 for one of those graphic kiosks in the mall that make stickers. Have you seen those?

Have them make a sticker with your domain name, and attach it to the back of your vehicle's back window. You want to measure the width of your window first, and have them vertically stretch the letters so it can be seen far away.

Think also, about other OFFLINE places you can display any domain name you have:

    • On T-shirts
    • Business cards
    • Paper money!
    • Have some notepads made with the name of your business on them, and leave your barista or waiter/waitress a thank you note)

I'm sure you can think of lots of other offline places to display your url or business name for free traffic.

Here's a traffic technique I don't think has been mentioned yet:

Swap ads with other list owners.

Chris Freville has an excellent video on how to set this all up at:

    Created with Camtasia Studio 5

This technique can bring you hundreds of subscribers in a day - which equates to quality long-term traffic.

We'd also like to introduce the "Animoto for Business" program, which allows you to create Animoto videos for commercial use. The package includes unlimited DVD-quality downloads and a few premium business features, such as no Animoto watermark, no buttons at the end of the video, and the option to pick something other than a green screen for your video's cover. I seen that too, but in the FAQ of the site is says you can't remove the last frame that has their logo. Maybe they changed it. It's a great service any how. I'm sure it would work great for videos for youtube traffic.

          Hi Nick,

You are right - you cannot remove the logo - but the commercial license only has a smaller Animoto tag - see this one made with the commercial licence:

umm yeah, I seen that too. Still has the logo, but it is much better then the non commercial one, being a lot smaller. But I still don't know If we'd use it with their brand on it. They should have an option to pay for the software rights. I'm sure it's worth x,xxx.

Here's a quick tip that has been working for us. It's simple, but really works well.

Create a "hub" page with your article. HubPages In the title tag use a long tail keyword. Then Digg and stumble your page. If you have a few bucks to spend, get Social Bookmarking Software, Social Bookmarking Tool to bookmark your hub. Great software, and easy to use.

We do this all the time to drive free traffic to our sites.

Join blog carnivals that are relevant to your niche. That way by submitting your blog posts to them they get picked up by people interested in your topic.

Bloggers can become hosts to host an edition of the carnival on their blog on a pre fixed date. In the mean time they collect links from bloggers who have submitted their blog post to the carnival.

When the carnival magazine is published it contains a synopsis on the weeks news/points or whatever with links going to the blogs who submitted their content for inclusion.

This way a lot of people who read the blog carnival edition can follow any link to find out more about the post submitted.

The main thing is to submit quality and relevant information to the right blog carnival. There are a lot of categories.

Here's a link to find out more.

Then provide an html embeddable link for webmasters to embed your tool into their website.

Create a blog that is a type of diary. Niche it so it is relevant to a group of people. It could be something like learning how to cook dinners my family will eat or watch me lose forty pounds or dealing with my chronic fatigue syndrome. Make it genuine and go through both your success and failures as you deal with the problem. People will subscribe to your feed and you can also run a newsletter separately. As you find products that work or help you , you can add in those links . You can also sell text links as the readership and traffic grows to your blog.

Digg the posts and also have it in your signature in relevant forums.

Forum posting works well, go to goole, type in "keyword" forums. This will bring up a list of forums related to your niche. Make sure you sign up to a forum that allows you to use a "signature file" linking to your merchant site. You can also use yahoo and msn for this, I usually focus on these 3 to get traffic. Make sure you read the rules of the forum as some only allow you to use your signature file after you have made quite a number of post. I have sold products by posting on forums and i have also bought products from other people's signature files, hope this helps.

        Hi Nick,

Easy - what you do is use your own royalty free music and images then you can export the video from Animoto and edit it.

I convert it to .avi and add title slides and then load to tubemogul.

I am adding a "how To" Video to my blog shortly.

    vBlogging Traffic
vBlogging (or vlogging or whatever you want to call it) is when you create a blog but by using videos as content. Why would you do this?
    1. It can be quicker and easier to create video content than written content (no writing) - just screen capture yourself doing something.
    2. The same video can be submitted to loads of sites.
    3. Less worry about duplicate content and all that stuff.

    Here's the plan:
    1. Decide on a niche and use wordtracker (or an equivalent) to find keywords and then research those keywords
    2. Create a blog at http://www.blogger.com/
    3. Grab a free theme and install it (Free Blogger Skins)
    4. Create your videos using Jing Project: Visual conversation starts here. Mac or Windows. - this is pretty self-explanatory, just screen capture what you are trying to show (e.g. how to do a level in a game)
    5. Watermark the videos and adds a url at the start and finish for your blog
    5. Post the videos using a video submitter or by hand
    6. Create a post and write a quick overview about the video and then embed the video below it
    7. Bookmark and ping the post
    9. Add links to the site you are trying to promote in adverts and within the posts themselves.
    10. Rinse and repeat (always make sure you try out new ways of making sure the traffic from the video sites goes to your blog so you maximise any views you get - make sure they know they can get more videos there)

Long term traffic tip for newbies:

Create a blog at wordpress, name the blog a long tail keyword. Post to your blog every other day, and make the posts title another long tail keyword. Write a few articles each week and submit them to Go Articles. After each new blog post, and each new article you submit to Go Articles, digg and stumble the links. Soon you'll have tons of long term traffic!

Repeat above as many times as you'd like in other niches. The best thing to do is to use the above system and outsource the task. That way you can have the system run within tons of niches, and you'll just sit back cashing your checks!

A Must For Any IM Marketer: How to get 2,000 twitter followers FAST!

Twitter: What are you doing? is an incredible site to network and to get free traffic to your websites.

    Step 1. Join Twitter

Step 2. Setup your profile with your bio and link to your website ( I use my blog)

Step 3. Start looking for the "gurus" in your niche and follow their followers! Follow the max of 2,000 and then wait about 2 weeks.

Step 4. Go to Your Twitter Karma and un-follow those who are not following you, that you are only following.

Step 5. Repeat step 3 and 4 a few times until you get to 2,000 followers.

(Side note: You should promote your blog on twitter, because every time you post a new blog post, you can just tell everyone on twitter and boom, you got traffic! It's better then a hard sell, like offering an affiliate product. You can, but a blog will bring you long term traffic. Don't forget to hook up a feed burner account on your blog

Get more mileage out of your articles.

      1. of course submit them to article directories.
      2. put a slide show together with the main points and make a youtube video.
      3. put a couple of articles on a free blog site and submit the rss feed to as many rss agregators as you can find.
      4. convert your article to a .exe ebook and submit it to software sites for hundreds of one way backlinks.
      5. read your article aloud and make a podcast out of it, submit podcast to podcast aggregators much like you would with an rss feed.

This is probably way to late, but I'll still try giving it a shot.

From what I learned when writing articles, you should be treat the article as

you're actually talking to nearby friend. Many times when we talk to a

monitor screen, our tone of language can sound condescending to the reader.

If you can make the reader feel like the only purpose isn't just trying to tell

him or her something, but rather give them some helpful tips even if you don't

end up getting the sale, there is more of a chance that they will click on your

URL link, which then can drive traffic if you have a blog or website or the site

you're trying to promote. Hope this is one way!

Print off a bunch of A4 posters advertising free information about making money online that contain tear off strips with your URL on there and post them on free notice boards, or if it's not illegal, telegraph poles around your area. Include the URL in the ad itself so that people can still check the URL if all tear off strips have been removed.

So, you would go to a book store, buy a book, take it home and read it, then bring it back if it didn't suit you?

is there an infraction button for stupid?

That's fine - my post may not have been clear enough - It gets my nerve people who take take take and then think nothing of it.

I am guessing it is just a troll trying to wind us up - nothing more.

              This Is a long post...

There is one thing that separates the winners and the losers...and that is dedication.
If you won't dedicate yourself fully than you will never get anywhere period. There is no doubt about it, anyone who makes over 100 000 has or has had extreme dedication to the Internet marketing field.
They worked there ass off to make money, and most actually enjoy what they do.
I'm going to show you step by step how to make money free.
There's a little bonus at the end of this post too...so keep on reading noobs
              So let's get started...

Step 1 : picking a niche...now I don't care what you pick. If two people are interested in a subject than that's considered a niche. So it goes without saying that there are thousands of niches, and thousands of them that you dominate. Now clearly you want to have more than just 2 people interested in the niche you choose but hopefully you get the point...
For this little example I am going to pick the 'make money' niche.

It also gets 10 000 searches a month which is pretty darn good!

Step 2: You need to pick long tail keywords to target and to get ranked for.
A great 'free' tool is market samurai you can get a 30 day free trial and it will save you hours!
For this research I'm just going to use the old 'adwords keyword research tool', simply go here and type in make money. And soon you will see hundreds of keywords pop up. And they will all have numbers beside them describing how many times each keyword is searched. Now don't get too excited 90% of these you won't be able to use because they have too much competition. But those other 10% will make you big bucks, i promise.
So how do you know what keywords to pick?
Simple, take one that's pretty long and enter it into google with quations around it. Like this : "the keyword you choose".
This will show you how many competing sites are trying to get ranked for this phrase, Try to pick something under 20 000 competing pages for now.
So let's say I've been working my ars of and I have finally found the 'perfect' keyword, the keyword is "how to make money on internet". Pretty cool right?
It has 12, 800 competing pages so it shouldn't be too hard, the sites that are there are pretty big sites, but we see some YouTube vids so it can't be that hard to get on the first page

It also gets 10 000 searches a month which is pretty darn good!

Step 3: So we got a killer keyword, now what product should we promote hmm...let's head on over to clickbank.

Now since we are targeting the 'make money' niche let's select a killer product that will help people make money online. Now it is my unbiased opinion that we should use Nick Marks' product called Forex Enterprise for this example

If you aren't already signed up for clickbank sign up, and then come back and click 'create hoplink' just below Nick's product review on clickbank. Enter your clickbank I.D and there your done. You should have something like this: yourclickbank ID (.) 1free.hop.clickbank (.) net

Step 4: So now you got a horrible looking affiliate link. This is where your going to have to make a choice.
You can go with the free way. Or the paid way(that will bring you more sales)
The free way: Simply go to tinyurl.com put in your affiliate link and you will end up with something like this. Tinyurl.com/abc123 , it doesn't look beautiful by any stretch of the imagination but it is a lot better than what we used to have
The Paid way: Go over to godaddy.com and buy yourself a nice little domain (e.x www. your domain.com) This will cost you a whooping 10 bucks, if you decide to buy a domain you want to make it relivent to what your promoting so something like www.make money.com would be better than say www. secretcatfoodrecipes.com.
Once you have your amazing new domain, simply go to your cpanel and forward it to your affiliate link. Couldn't get much easier.
I don't care what way you choose, I made 100's just with a little tinyurl.com url...but having your very own domain WILL help conversions. It would be a great investment.

Step 5 : Ok so we got a pretty domain, now let's start getting people clicking on it. First thing were going to do is create a Squidoo lens targeting your main keyword "how to make money on internet".
Squidoo's are so easy a 5 year old could do it...But if you want to SEO it you need to do a few little things. First make sure that one of your tags is how to make money on internet, than make sure your keyword is in the main title, make sure it's in your intro, and make sure it's in every text module. Don't over do it though, just work it into a few sentences here are there.

If you don't know what to talk about simply go read 10-20 ezine articles about making money online. After you read around 20 you will easily be able to make great 100% original content.
Never ever copy and paste someone else's work, someone worked very hard creating that piece of work.
So basically you should end up with a squdioo lens with about 4 text module's and a youtube video and guestbook. You should make sure you keyword is in there a number of times also.
Hint: If your really creative make a powerpoint on making money online than upload it to youtube and plaster your affiliate links on it and than link to that youtube video in your squidoo lens. Now that will be smart thinking on your part

Step 6: Ezine articles, What you're going to do is create high quality articles and submit them to exinearticles.com. Now when making an article you want to work your keyword into it naturally...very naturally. Ezine is very picky about what they accept so make sure it's high quality...Include your keyword in the title. Include it in the tag area. Include it in the summary section. And include it once per every 100 words. And include it is the author bio box. No more no less.
Author Bio box: Ok so this is where the money is made, but listen up there are some rules! First is that if you have a tinyurl.com url you cannot promote it in your bio box. But if you have a normal domain (e.g www.yourdomain .com) you can promote it in the bio box. Don't get discouraged though, if you are strapped for cash simply put your squidoo lens link in your bio box!
You should create 5 of these articles for every keyword you pick, this will ensure pure domination!
These articles will take around 7 days to be approved...

Step 7: OK so it's a week later and all your articles got approved. YAY! Now you aren't done yet, your almost done though...
Today were going to social boomark, I hate doing this, but it's a key step to domination.
Ok so gather up all the urls to your squidoo lens' and ezine articles. Now create a story about them at digg and promote it, you should also go to socialmarker.com and sign up for all those sites and submit your urls to all of them. This will take you hours, but hey it's worth it.

Step 8 : Submiting Rss feeds, again this isn't my fav thing in the world to do but it will help you. Gather up your rss feeds from all your articles and squidoo lens'. (press the little orange button at the top of your browser to get the link). Once you have them all go and submit them J If you want a list of sites just google 'submit rss feeds' or just PM me. This won't take as long as social bookmarking though...
And that's everything people! Pretty easy right? I think so...
              Let's do a quick review.
Make 5 articles at ezinearticles, Make a few squidoo lens' promoting Nicks product, social bookmark them all, and finally submit all there rss feeds.
              This is beyond easy guys!

As a little incentive to the newbie I want to offer something. Whoever can get on the first page of google for the keyword 'how to make money on internet' I will give 50 dollars
Hope this serves as a little incentive,
              Thanks
              Zach

Unfortunately there are plenty of thieves out there who buy whatever they want just to immediately get a refund and keep the product and learn from it.
