Here today/gone tommorrow programs.

I am brand new to IM, haven't done anything yet, not even sure I will.

I am wondering if I need to watch for here today, gone tommorrow programs, meaning they start with a bang and they get a lot of interest but maybe after awhile the interest wains and the owner of the program might stop the program or divert there attention to another program etc.

Is this common in this industry? Anything to look out for when evaluating what I join??
