Dont get me wrong ive been with aweber for years, close to 7 years.. they have many many things going for them as a service but some features which you would think would be standard in the service are not... well 1 is not and 1 you have to upgrade to get.

I wanted to have the option of letting my subscribers decide on a new community site ive created, which days of the week they want messages sent to them. i.e

mon, tues, wed, thurs, friday

I asked aweber about this, as this is a pretty straight forward option to provide as many people would only prefer to get things on certain days.

Do they have it..? NO.. the subscriber cant select the day

I couldnt believe they didnt have this after all the years they have been in service

Then they tell me, you cant let your subscribers choose but you can choose for them. i.e I can queue up 50 emails and have them send on a specific date. I.e Tuesday every week without me having to be there and no matter what day they sign up. It will only ever go out on Tuesday.

They guide me to the option.... and well it appears to get that you have to upgrade ( kaching ) and extra $40 a month to get that..

And after having been with them for close to 7 years, nope there is no deal

so its time to find a autoresponder service that actually has those 2 features by default, or at least 1 of them without having to upgrade

As right now it wont let me my subscribers choose and it wont let me send on 1 or 2 specific days of the week every week without either

a. being there to send them ( defeats the point of autoresponse )
b. upgrading

crazy business...

Another failure with Aweber is their "split testing".

You can't split-test across several email lists, or split-test to one email list while excluding anyone who is on another email list.

ie, their "split testing" is very weak, great for newbies, useless for anyone else..

I asked, they said they have no plans to fix this glaring problem.

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

Yep they need to start listening to their clients, as if they dont.. someone will and that person will end up making good money.

I would disagree aweber is not the only one on the block who has good deliverability rates

      there are many other services

      constantcontact
      getresponse
      icontact
      lyris
      infusionsoft
      interspire

      and several others

Dont get me wrong for a regular service aweber is great but for having options which I cant believe they dont have, they need to up there game instead of just up there price for what should be standard in a autoresponder package

i just spotted a UK autoresponder service that has just launched that apparently offers the feature of being able to send automatically on a specific day week after week. Im going to check them out and i will update how things going here.

Yeah thats good, it all depends on what the purpose is of the subscriber list

I.e If you want to send a Monday Motivator, the above wouldn't work

I need to send on a specific day of the week for this list and essentially i could do that by going in and manually sending it out on my monday, but if they are in a different timezone my monday might be there sunday or tuesday.. so its important I have it do it automatically based on their subscription

I use to use aweber and stopped about 6 months ago. I just tired of dealing with limited options and successful delivery rate seems to keep dropping.

I am now using getresponse and they seem to be a little better, although not that large of an improvement.

Funny enough i just signed up for a free account with getresponse to test things out as they apparently have at least the 1 feature of being able to send on a specific date on their standard account

Update: Found out its just " Newsletter" which basically is " Broadcast " in aweber setting to broadcast at a later date.

It seems this is the closest to what im after so I may just stick with aweber and use broadcast or i will check out the new service in the UK
