Default How to track the performance of different ads? Anyone has any idea?

Hi Fellow Warriors,

I'm thinking of placing ads on different sites and newsletters to drive some traffic. But I have no idea how to track the performance of each ad. Can someone share any idea?

Appreciate lots!

Cheers~

Mark

What i have been doing is yourdomainname.com/?tag

im not sure if thats the best way but thats what worked for me when i have 3 different ads from 1 site.

example on how i track which ad the traffic was coming from.

yourdomainname.com/?elitesl=bnr - banner ads from the elitesafelist domain
yourdomainname.com/?elitesl=textad - text ads from the elitesafelist domain
yourdomainname.com/?elitesl=crdtmail - credit mail ads from elitesafelist domain

Thanks so much guys! But how do you create the different sub-ids? Please pardon my ignorance.

Cheers~

If your cloaking your links, you can just name them differently, if you don't have a cloaker but your selling clickbank products, clickbank has a tracking feature.

If you don't have a cloaker and your not selling clickbank products, you need a cloaker...

Hi VinnyBock,

What cloaker would you recommend? You can post your affiliate link if you want.

Cheers~

All good affiliate programs/software will be able to instruct you on how to create a subid or individual tracking ID for each link.

Thanks Rebecca. But I'm not creating tracking ID for any affiliate programmes. I'm creating for my own website because I'm advertising my own website.

Any other suggestion?

Cheers~

Mark

Mark I highly suggest checking out the site I linked to above. The free version can do a ton for ya. And will allow you to track lots! There may be a little learning curve but it is WELL worth it.

They provide a lot of video and text based tutorials too.

Google analytics has a built in "URL Builder" that will do the job if you are using google analytics. If you are not DO IT it is free. Look in the help menu for URL builder. It allows you to create custom campaigns. You would then us the URL builder link to tie in to the banner(s) you create. Upon signing into google analytics you can see each campaigns stats.
