What sorts of hosting plans and prices do you all have? Are you going with shared hosting accounts, vps or dedicated servers (or something else altogether?).

    From my experience, webhostingpad and hostgator are 2 of the best web hosting companies around. They have plenty of features like unlimited space, domains and databases. They also give you credit towards google adwords and yahoo advertising and if you're an affiliate marketer you know how valuable google credits are. If you are looking for the best web hosting companies start with webhostingpad or hostgator you won't be disappointed. Webhostingpad has a plan that starts at $1.99. Choosing the best web hosting companies isn't hard if you do your research.

    We offer plans from $4.95/month (am manager/owner of my host)

    I host my personal sites on a VPS (seperate from our client server)

    For most people, I'm sure that shared/reseller hosting is fine. It's only when you either:

    a) Outgrow shared hosting (i.e. have a popular site)

    or:

    b) Wish to be able to modify your environment (thus need a VPS or higher)

    That you'll really need to change from shared, IMO.

    All depends on what you use your hosting for and how much control you want to have. With today's prices I find the hosting price to be irrelevant and don't give it second thought. The most important criteria is the reliability of the host and outstanding support.

    Think about how much traffic you expect to get in the future and plan accordingly, moving to dedicated servers or vps later is not that complicated but may interrupt the service for a short period of time.

    I find dedicated option best for my lazy @ss. Vps requires some specific knowledge.

    I would recommend going with a more established web host as they tend to be more dependable and have better tech support and less downtime. I use HostGator and have the business account at $12.95 a month. I really like their service.
