Default Answer my Clickbank Question

I know that there are a few of you that have to know how to do this so can you please help. I have taken your advice with a previous question and set up my own CB-affiliate websites to promote and was wondering this>
After putting up a site that is a replica of the CB product site, I now need to know how to bypass the original CB site as now the potential customer has already seen it! I know that there is a link code to implement > going straight to the CB product purchase page (Without going to the Original CB product site) and seeing the same content again.I hope that I have explained this well enough to understand. Can anyone help me with the steps and code it takes to get this done..
If you are watching P.P. I know you know this

I have my own site where I link to the CB payment page rather than the vendor's page. Here is the code that I use and it works great. http://1.yourclickbankid_venderid.pay.clickbank.net

Make sure you use the 1 .

Have you got permission from the product owner to replicate their site and to bypass straight to the order page??

Hi Andy, My site is not a replica and looks very different. The clickbank owner has seen it and has approved.

Andy..Was wondering what issue you would have if a CB affiliate was doing this with your product but was not taking the credit for the creation.Basically driving traffic to a folder containing your site on his host using a link to the folder. It wouldnt be competing in the search engines and looking as duplicate content in this config > diff domain name .com/foldername/CB site.html
Would you have a problem, after all he is making you money. He could just say SCREW it then and find another CB product owner that is into making money and not picking over how it gets done as long as it is not looking as duplicate content to the search engines.

I'm not Andy but I'll nip in and answer.

It is ClickBank who are saying that you must get approval
from the vendor first - so that you do not misrepresent the
product.

Thank you Harvey, I don't see how the product could be misrepresented if it were an almost duplicate of the original, other than the optin being changed... but, The question still remains. Would you have a problem if it were your product?

Well if it is almost a duplicate like that then it cannot be misrepresented
but suppose the vendor decides to change key elements in his version
and yours remains unchanged.
That's why you must obtain his permission.

(Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer and this is not legal advice, this is based on a lot of experience I've had as a merchant and affiliate dealing with copyright issues in the past...)

It would be huge no-no to essentially duplicate a sales letter and put it on your own website to drive affiliate sales without express permission of the owner.

Despite the fact that it could compete with the original website SEO-wise, there are endless other scenarios:

1) The original offer is substantially changed for a variety of reasons, and your duplicated sales letter is now making claims that the product does not support.

2) Someone who originally gave a testimonial for the product changes their mind and requests that they stop using the testimonial for some reason and the product owner complies, but the product is still listed on your duplicate site.

Here's the related Terms that covers Clickbank's policy that you cannot copy someone's sales letter etc as an affiliate
https://www.clickbank.com/terms.html
You will not make any unlicensed or unauthorized use of or otherwise infringe or misappropriate any materials protected by any patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, right of privacy, right of publicity or other intellectual property or other proprietary right ("IP Rights").
Even if those terms weren't listed by Clickbank, any basic copyright notice on a website or sales letter prohibits you from doing what you're asking about without express permission from the content owner.

However, if they were not misrepresenting the product and had a better sales page, why the heck not? If I put a product on Clickbank and someone contacted me and wanted to do this, I don't see why I should mind - as long as I knew what their URL was so I could check the page every once in awhile and had some way to contact them to let them know about updates and the like.

After all, if they're making me money and they're doing it ethically, then it's no shirt off my back. In fact, it would be a great way to split-test and see which sales page worked the best. I could always tweak MY sales page to convert better.

In the end, though, it's about making sales. So who cares how it's done as well as it's done right and well.

If this isn't a good idea, what am I missing?

I am quite sure this is against the Clickbank TOS - you must send the customers to the merchants page, not bypass it.

Hi Tony,

The vendor has encouraged the affiliates to do this and he gave me the link for it. Like I said, the vendor has seen the page and has approved it. I will check CB tos to see what it says. Thanks for your input.

UNLESS (as stated above) the vendor allows it

There are two disadvantages with using this type of link

* The normal hoplink takes priority over this link:
therefore you will not get commission if your visitor has
previously gone through another affiliate’s hoplink

* The link does not set a cookie: therefore you will not
get commission if your visitor later returns to the site
without using the link

Screwing around with the links then back to how one got screwed out of their commissions by clickbank.

OK, this is NOT good news. I had no idea. I better rethink how I use my website. And maybe this is why, like Trader54 says, I do not get all the sales I should have. Thank you all for your valuable input on this. I am so glad you are all willing to share your knowledge.
