ClickBank Products - am I just too skeptical

So I am just starting the Affiliate Bootcamp that I bought off here a month ago. I go to Clickbank to pick out a product to use and I'm having trouble.

Everything I look at I think....

why would someone pay for this info when I'm sure you can find it free elsewhere on the net?

why would someone pay $50 for an ebook on how to grow taller/get rid of cancer/stop their husband from cheating/etc

Maybe I just need to pick something and I try promoting it and not look at the product through my own eyes (if that makes any sense).

Someone makes a purchase given the following:
    1. Tastes
    2. Number of Buyers
    3. Income
    4. Price of relative goods/services
    5. Expectations

If a person has at least two of these reasons satisfied on product or service, then they are more likely to buy.

Now, here is more of a down to earth answer in regards to why.....
Most people are lazy. They don't want to do the additional research, or put together there own plan or do a lot of testing. The goal is to have a streamlined product or service that will give them the results they desire.
The problem: A high majority of the Clickbank products don't give you the real answers you need. more importantly, they don't give you the opportunity cost or unforseen costs that are necessary to get the actual results claimed.

Overall, your question was on price -- why would someone pay? Not only because of what I already stated above, but to reduce the time that it takes to get the desired results.

It's okay to understand why people buy, but you shouldn't worry too much about if a person will get something someone else. There's plenty of people willing & able to buy anything if it's marketed right & it provides an actual value to a specific person.

$50 is alot for just one e-book, do you have the link for that? I'm curious to see what someone wants that much money for.

Clickbank products can be really easy to sell, but the tough part is finding the good ones. In my opinion, there's only a small percentage of products that are good AND worth the money. You just have to keep searching to find them. I think many people don't care about whether or not they are actually providing the customer with value, they're just looking for the paycheck.

IMHO, price perception is directly related to the individual's economic status at the time of product research.

A millionaire will look at a $300K house as a damned good bargain; while someone making $100K annual will weigh this against their current lifestyle and expenses and possibly look for a cheaper version of something comparable.

Unfortunately, more so than not pricing does not reflect value on the Internet. This is why review sites are so popular; as it helps the consumer wade through the clutter of what to actually buy.

Again, IMHO, this type of purchasing help is extremely essential to the natural fiber of society and why there's actual jobs in the business private sector for Purchasers. They do more research for the company than anything else.

How easy is the info to find online for free? In many cases, it may be spread across multiple posts, multiple websites, etc. Sometimes, you can go in circles trying to research something because you have to jump from one site to another just to pick up all the details. And, sometimes you'll end up back at the site you started because it sent you to another site, which sent you to another, which sent you to another, which sent you back to the original site.

Some people would much rather spend $50 to get it all in one place then to have to hunt around for details.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

      I guess you are right.

I just need to stop looking at it through my eyes and pick a product. I am just too cheap (I would try to find the answer for free first) and too skeptical (I know some Ebook can't make me 3" taller in 90 days).

My eBook can make you 3" taller in 90 minutes. You just have to print it out single-sided on heavy weight paper and stand on it.

The best way to really find out if the product you're trying to promote is worth promoting is to ask for a review copy from the creator. Tell him/her that you're an intersted affiliate. Most product owners will be more than happy to hear that an affiliate is willing to promote for them, and will give you a copy.

This way, you can be sure if the infomration inside the product is worth the money.

Very often I struggle to sell products, which I would never buy. My mind is always telling me, that it would be better to sell something, what people need and is valuable.

Good people cannot jump over their our own shade. It seems that you are one of them, like me.

Whenever I sold physical items, I tested the function and the quality by myself, before I market the product.

You see, you are not alone.

Ok. Lots of good responses here that are 100% spot on and very legitimate and deal with the legit type of information e-books On ClickBank and lots of other affiliate programs on the net. and such. The type that applies to all of the previous posts in this thread. And then theere si the second type. The more ridiculous e-books you mentioned (the grow 3 inches in 90 day types, penis enlargement, etc) where I offer you the sage wisdom of P.T. Barnum - "There's A Sucker Born Every Minute" LOL

    ;>))

edited to add- the man has a TON of wisdom to share in his quotes.

How do I find the CB affilate center for a product? I know I've found it before but I can't seem it find it anymore for the products I am thinking of using.

I heard nothing but good things about Jeremy Kelsall's offering on here. It had glowing reviews and so did all the other programs he has offered.
Like I mentioned before I was up to day 6 before I got sidetracked and found it very helpful.

  • Think about it in terms of time. How much is your time worth? You could spend hours and hours surfing the 'net to compile the information in one good e-book. Plus, you probably wouldn't find everything you'll get in the book. If it takes me two hours to find the information and another two hours to compile it into an easy-to-reference index, it's well worth $50 to just have it delivered.

I think I only paid $22 for it. But yes, I agree with what you said.
