Default Anyone using Wordpress SEO All-In-One Plugin?

I have just had this installed but have no idea what is good and what is not to customise (ie the different little boxes to check or uncheck) within this plug in for SEO purposes.

Can anyone offer a little advice?

Thanks

John

hi

i use it on everything...

under settings - all in one seo....

specify the title, description and keywords of your blog.

remember search engines only show around 160 characters in the description.

as for the checkboxes....

rewrite titles...leave it on if u like.

using categories for meta keywords - i prefer to leave it off.

the rest i leave on - no dupe content issues

(just not the log function right at the bottom)

wp will create a title tag for every new post or page.

the plugin is set to autogenerate descriptions.

keywords is not too much of an issue - i just prefer to specify it on the home page out of habit.

there are some other plugins that also have functions for no-follow of category, etc links...

be careful - if you use on of them - you do want google to follow those links and see the navigation of your site.

but not to index them.

hope this helps.

I've honestly gotten perfect results simply by filling out the meta information for the Home page title, description and keywords - leaving everything else as is.

If you're unfamiliar with advanced SEO, I'd suggest sticking with the basics for now.

I like to type in custom meta descriptions....and depending on my mood I'll do custom meta keywords since apparently Yahoo still sort of indexes the keyword meta tag....

Everything else I leave as is and it works great.

I typically type in a custom meta title, description, and keywords for each new post (this is available at the bottom of the page when making a new post, in the META data section). The plug-in def works great. One aspect of my business deals with local businesses in my area and doing their online marketing for them, in two weeks the blog I made for a local private school had over 250 unique visits. Doesn't sound like a lot but remember that each "customer" of a private school is worth thousands of $$.

Anyways, I'm rambling haha, it works great just plug in meta data where you can and let the rest of the AIO plug-in do it's magic.

Once you install and activate this plugin, you need to activate it again in the "All-in-one SEO settings" section.

In this same section you'll want to enter your title tag, the description of your site and your main keywords. Save the changes.

After that you're all set to go. Whenever you make a new post, simply fill in the details in the All-in-one SEO section (this is usually at the end of your new post form) which is namely, the post heading, description and keywords.

Guys..

What about checking/unchecking the boxes for "use noindex" for categories, archives..etc

Isn't this better to be checked on to avoid duplicate content?

Thanks guys ...

Does anyone know if meta descriptions and keywords from seo plugin override any others.

In my source code I seem to have another set of older meta descriptions and keywords as well as those specified by SEO plugin.

Thanks

John
