I would be interested in this post as well. I bought a beginner's guide affiliate marketing a couple of months ago, but I could not get past the crucial first step of picking a good product.

Hey,
People think that finding a niche is tough, but it's not. Here's a little something that might help you: 1. Go to DMOZ.org and look at directories with the highest numbers in brackets. This will give you some ideas. 2. Go to Amazon.com and look through magazines or go to ebay and see what type of information sold there is hot. The point is that you need to find places where people pay for information. This way you'll know they'll pay for yours ![]() 3. When you find some ideas, the next and obvious step is to find groups of people where you can market. You probably already know that you will be looking for forums. Find active ones. I like really crowded places like a huge 150.000 people forum. 4. See what problems they have. How do you do that? just do a forum search and see what people are talking about. Try to find emotional words like "pain", "frustration", "panic", "love", "sick of it" etc. Just do a few simple searches for words like that and you'll quickly know what causes people's frustrations, pains, headaches, etc. If you do this, you'll not only have a good niche selected, but you'll also have some good ideas for a good problem solving product. Hope this helps. MorganRichman |

Wow.. just stopped by the cb marketplace and it says "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable" (I've seen that before but it's usually my site)
![]() In order to cut to the chase and know what's actually selling well on clickbank take an immediate look at the gravity - higher gravity means greater popularity. If something has high gravity that means it's selling steadily. It might also mean that you will be going up against a lot of experienced affiliates, so there is a balance to be considered. It sounds like you have some materials on niche research already, I suggest you take a look through them again and instead of feeling overwhelmed, just note the most essential tips and use them as guidelines in picking your products to promote. Here are some tips: Check each (major) category on the clickbank marketplace and notice the differences in stats at the top rated product in each category. The top product in the least popular category is still likely a good target product. Do some keyword research in google using quotes and without quotes to see what kind of competition you would be facing. Less than 20,000 without quotes and less than 4,000 with quotes are potentialy good keywords to go after with articles - assuming your keywords relate well to the product you wish to market. Finally go here: www (dot) cbengine (dot) com cbengine is free and gives a lot of extra insight in to clickbank products. Their paid service is even better! Good Luck! |

Morgan Richmond has it right.
1. Go to DMOZ.org and look at directories with the highest numbers in brackets. This will give you some ideas. 2. Go to Amazon.com and look through magazines or go to ebay and see what type of information sold there is hot. The point is that you need to find places where people pay for information. How do you do that? just do a forum search and see what people are talking about. Try to find emotional words like "pain", "frustration", "panic", "love", "sick of it" etc. Just do a few simple searches for words like that and you'll quickly know what causes people's frustrations, pains, headaches, etc. That really is the most surefire way I know of. Easy and to the point. Best of everything, William Dean |

Start with the google adwords keyword tool. If people are spending money in advertising there must be money to be made.
