Flipping Out's Jeff Lewis Talked Dot TV Domains

Is he right about this?

Jeff Lewis, the main "reality TV star" of Flipping Out, was livid because a friend made a website for him and it was a dot tv domain - and Jeff said he came to find out that "Google does not recognize these domains."

Is that right? I didn't know they "didn't recognize" any specific domains. And I bought tiffanydow.tv awhile back (haven't done anything with it yet) but I won't go to any effort if it's a waste of my time.

Tiffany,

Nothing scientific, but now that you mention it, I don't recall ever having seen that extention show up in any of my searches.

But I don't search for TV shows, either.

Just saw "edublogs.tv" in the SERPs, so .tv's DO get indexed it seems.

Hi Tiffany,

Google does recognise them. I just did a search for ".tv domains" and I got quite a few in the top 10 results.

I suspect they're not very good for SEO purposes though.
