I use Camstudio and have absolutely no problems with it.

Interesting. Seems to be perfectly fine for me. I do have a fairly good mic though: Audio-Technica AT2020.

The best thing about it is you can try it for free ;-)

FYI there's an Alternative to asking questions too, it's called searching the forum first:

http://www.warriorforum.com/search.php

Typing in the terms camtasia alternative, 3 out of the first 4 results answer exactly what you're asking.

I don't mean to be bagging on the original poster, but for those who have been on the forum for a good amount of time, a lot of new threads just feel like reruns.

The questions have been asked, and they've been answered, and the best part is you can get the answer instantly without having to wait for people to answer your question.

That was helpful. NOT!

let's just think about this, you spent the time to do the search yourself and then write your bitchy reply, it would of been easier and quicker for you just to reply with a link to one of these threads rather than replying with a head up your ass comment

I guess you didn't take my "I don't mean to be bagging on the original poster" disclaimer to heart, I meant my reply to be in reference to a lot of posts I've seen lately that ask questions that have lots of good answers here already. A long time ago this forum did NOT have a built-in search, you had to Google the forum. I don't think a lot of people are in the habit of using the search function.

I looked again, and the top of the 3 threads was actually this one, so there were two active threads:

This one has 9 posts
The Best Alternative to Camtasia?

And this one has 93
Camtasia or Camstudio?

There's a lot of info there that you might find useful.

Note: I don't know if you're having a rough day today or what, but regardless of whether my quick response about the search results rubbed you the wrong way (and I apologize since it did), your reply was out of line.

If you are going to use jing...which is one of my fav tools in the toolbox you most definately need to spend the extra $15 and upgrade. It allows you to upload videos to the most popular hosting sites. (youtube..etc.
