Have they fixed their back logging problem? Are they still taking their time approving articles?

You could submit that article elsewhere while you are waiting. Have you published it on your site yet?

Did not want to start another thread for the same like topic but I do have a question. I though when you added adsense to your pages you could at max put 3 ad places on a single page? Why then does ezine articles have 5 per page? Can I ad 5 to my site or like whats up?

High volume sites have special arrangements with google - doesn't apply to most of us. They may use more ad blocks or use customized ads.

3 weeks. Yikes. How long is the usual wait time? I'll be getting started with article marketing in the next few days.

As someone mentioned earlier, there are other options to submit to and in fact (as daedalus1 mentioned) articlebase.com is becoming a great alternative. I have only ever submited a few to them ages ago, but I am about to start submitting more to them because I have heard good things about them even outranking ezine articles. I am not sure if it is instant approval or what there though, so you might have the same problem.

I think it will continue to be an issue. You can always become a paid member for something like $97 per month. That will take care of the issue. As a Platinum author I never have to wait more than 48 hours, perhaps I am just lucky.

I have been waiting on average 2-3 weeks per article.
It's a shame that when on occassion an article fulls into their problem section that they can't just send one message saying what the problem is, instead they send an email message saying your article has a problem please contact us to find out more. So of course you do contact them asking what the problem is and then wait a further week (yes this has happened to me) until they get back to you telling you what the problem is. Then of course you have to make the changes and re-submit the article and wait another possible 2-3 weeks for the article to be approved. And before anyone says the inevitable ''just make sure you follow the guildlines'' I actually have and my article has still fallen into the problem section by error on ezine's side. I have suggested a few times to them that it would be a lot more convenient to just send one message when an article falls into the problem category, telling us what the problem is so we can get it fixed as soon as possible. Anyway hopefully they will be back up to speed soon! My 2 cents! |

OK WOW, I just logged in and over half of my articles are now suspended because I have an affiliate link in my resource box. So kinda pointless to ever use ezine articles is it not now? Along with a ton of other people I am sure that wont be using it because of this. Whats up with this?

It's not that's exactly what I did and they are flagging them all and closing them all down now. They don't want any affiliate links what so ever no redirects.

I don't think it's quite as simple as that, Sean. But to be fair, that's in any case a pretty poor method of trying to get affiliate sales, for quite a few reasons. One would be competing with others directing their leads to their own authority site on the subject(s), and one would have no opportunity of ever building a list that way, and the conversion-rate among "prospects" who've been sent directly from an article resource-box to a sales page without any "pre-selling" in-between is in any case lamentably low, you know?

Ever since I got upgraded to "Basic Plus" status (a few weeks ago), my articles have only taken a week to get approved.

Well from what I have heard and from what others teach in their products this was on of the main methods to use. The only reason I would use it anymore is linking to my own site and that is it. Im just saying they are flagging articles left and right if you have an affiliate link its going to get tossed..
Message from a once apprroved article now has :Problem: Sorry, we do not accept articles which contain affiliate or distributor links.: Link is a redirect out of my own domain name. Just giving a heads up I don't care really but this def is something new they are doing |

Yes, they've certainly announced that they're tightening up quite a bit (which many of us welcome), and that they'll no longer accept articles which are derivative in content and have a redirected affiliate-link in the resource-box.

So what would you use your articles for then? Direct links back to your blog, or main web site? Just wondering as everything I bought they all teach you to promote affiliate links there. So just learning way to much online to know it all lol

(After posting the articles on my own property first, of course). I don't distinguish much between "blogs" and "non-blog web sites" to be honest, because (a) it's all a bit technical for me, (b) I use blogging software to create web sites anyway because anything else is beyond me, (c) with the "static pages" that all the leading blogging software includes these days, there's very little real difference between a "blog" and a "non-blog site" and (d) search engines don't love blogs "because they're blogs", they love them because they're "regularly updated web sites" (I think). And Alexa in a previous post is correct in saying going straight to an affiliate product sales page is not the most effective method. Much better in my experience to go to one of your own sites and presell the offer from there. IMHO - EzineArticles is still very useful - if you write your articles correctly, for traffic and a targeted backlink, and if you don't write as well, at least you get a well ranked backlink out of it.

After about five months, 35 submitted articles, and 35 accepted articles (2 of which initially got "soft" rejections for so-called "problems" that I fixed), I was just upgraded by EzineArticles to Platinum status.
For a couple of months, reviews of submissions seemed to be taking two weeks, although lately they've approved my stuff in about a week. Now, Platinum contributors are supposed to get approved faster. We'll have to see. I plan to submit a few new articles over the weekend... |

I got upgraded to platinum status after submitting my first article, and have never had a problem getting them put up within 48 hours since. Make sure your first article is well written and actually USEFUL for people rather than just shameless self-promotion and you should be fine.

Mine are taking about a week for approval.
Dont sit staring at the screen waiting for it to be approved - 1 or 2 weeks is a short period of time in this businses! Get busy doing other things. |

Honestly, no idea. Got the congratulatory e-mail soon after they confirmed the article was accepted. If you just follow their guidelines to the T, then they will usually be more accommodating, even though admittedly a lot of their rules are subject to interpretation :\
