Default Plagiarism???

I've got an affiliate site I'm advertising in and Google is not running my ads due to the wonderful quality score. It's close though. So I figure I need to ad a few articles, site map etc. to get my ads running.

So my question...If I copy an article from another site, post it on my site with a source attached to it. Is it plagiarism? Is it un-ethical? Would it matter in anyway that I posted someone's article to my site with a source attached??

And yes, I do know i can re-write the article and call it my own. I'd rather spend time on writing copy I can test and convert, not copy that I don't even really want anyone to read.

Thanks any insight would be great.

Does it matter the article directory, or just anyone? Ezine articles work? Thanks for the quick reply

No, it doesn't matter what article directory you get the content from. What matters if you keep everything intact - the full article and the bio box with active links.

Webmasters used to use articles from a bunch of different directories, but don't seem to do it much anymore. Part of that is due to junk articles, and part of it may be due to them thinking they shouldn't because of Google's duplicate content thing.

Whole internet consists of duplicate content, then why would Google penalize you and not the thousands of other sites??

I use both duplicate content and sometimes original content on my various sites and both types of sites are ranking well in the Google, and my affiliate sites made up mostly of dupe content are ranking on the first page of Google for their keywords and making me some good money out of affiliate commissions.

I have been using duplicate content on my sites for the past two years but to this day I never had any issues with Google nor did they penalize me for it. And that's why based on my personal experience I believe in Rumors that "duplicate content is just a myth similar to many other myths in the IM niche."

You can not take an article and copy it from someone's own site without permission. Just article directories as mentioned above.

You may take a small piece of an article from a non-directory and give credit to the source.

And NO, there is no PENALTY score for dupe content.
