Default American Google Search Results

Hey guys,

Do you know of any ways to view the normal search results that those in the US see?

Since i'm in Canada everything is a little different and I don't really trust the results i'm getting from the current site i'm viewing the results from.

I'm not the best at explaining things - so hopefully you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance!

Zach

Use Google.com instead of Google.ca?

or just use a proxy like HideMyAss.com and search.

I have a firefox plugin called Google Global that allows you to see results from a number of locations - including USA, UK, etc. Not sure where I got it from I'm afraid but it is free so hopefully someone can point you in the right direction

When you get it you simply do a normal search, hit the Firefox button and select the country you want to see results of

Google.com simply redirects to Google.ca

And I never thought of HideMyAss.com

Thanks,

Zach

Did you try adding &gl=US to your google result page address?

I'm in the UK and had the same problem.

Just use google.com/ncr to see the US results - you can set your home page to that also if you always want to see the .com results, works with other google tld's too I believe.

I think HideMyAss.com and Google Global Firefox are the best solutions to this problem. Firefox obviously supposed to work with Mozilla Firefox and HideMyAss to work with explorer (although you can use it with Firefox too). I use it to change my IP location as well. This sort of helps you get an idea of how your SERPs is doing in different countries.

As mentioned, Google Global and HideMyAss are the more convenient solutions. If you don't have either of those, add "&gl=US" to the end of the address which is returned in your browser when you make a search; then make a fresh search and it will produce US results.

The advice offered here is all good.

Just as an FYI the Canadian Google.ca page has a link on it to "Go to Google.com". It leads to http:\\www.google.com\ncr

The Ads Preview Tool in your Adwords account (Opportunities tab) allows you to project a Google search as it would show up from anywhere you would like to project.

Trust me google.com/ncr doesn't show the real american google.
You must use a US proxy.
