Finding groups for my free service

Hello everybody.
I am working on a project, which connects all kinds of groups in different cities in the U.S.A (volunteers, school and hospitals staff, etc) with small local business. I offer those group a free online platform that doesn't require them anything but initial registration of the group representative and filling a short form

I started contacting groups that may be interested by email, but I am afraid that many people will get suspicious or ignore it as they ignore marketing emails, etc.

So other than emailing - how would you find such groups? are there any organizations or websites where I can contact many groups at once? also, I found many groups on Facebook - is it appropriate to contact them via Facebook messages (in my country it is, but I am not sure about the U.S.A)?

Would be glad for some insights.

Not sure what your service is but the best way for this type of audience would be to visit in person. But, since you are in Israel that might be difficult

    Thanks, Al.
Yes, visiting would be impossible, even if it was in Israel - too many groups to go to would make it quite an expensive venture.
    Thanks!

Instead look for KEY members, or group leaders. A person is much easier to contact than a group, and every group has someone leading it.

Take volunteers. Yes, maybe they are a group, but there are many different types of volunteer groups, or schools or hospital staff, almost all belong to some sort or an organization. You would contact the heads of the organizations.

But I could be wrong, but I feel your thinking isn't going in the right direction, find the INFLUENCER/Leader of a group and contact a single person.

Sounds like LinkedIn would be something to consider. You can find key people there and with a 30 day free premium trial, you can probably get a handful of quality introductions.

Make sure you have a clear real benefit for their group or focus on resolving a common problem. Good Luck!

PS: Don't forget to leverage article publishing on LinkedIn to provide your outreach candidates more insight into your platform's benefits and features.

Thank you! Gordon, finding the leader is the right direction and thank you for the tip! And professorrosado - I actually (and I don't know why)didn't consider trying Linkedin, so this is a very good advice. I'll also use Linkedin articles as you suggested, makes sense! Thanks!

Yes, social media can do the traveling. Join groups that do almost the same thing you are doing on FB, Instagram, and Twitter. Follow and comment on their activities. It will help you build a launching pad.

Find people who run Facebook Groups and LinkedIn Groups. Reach out to them with something beneficial for them. Catch their eye. Also search tags on Twitter to see influential people in your niche. Pinpoint folks who run large groups or lead large tribes, as a starting point.
