Selling e-books online without a Paypal or Stripe account

I operate a high traffic blog and sell e-books through Clickbank which handles the payment processing.

I can't use services such as e-junkie or sendowl because all of them require me to have a Paypal or Stripe account but since I'm from Turkey where Paypal is banned and Stripe doesn't operate, I'm stuck with Clickbank which handles the payment processing without me having to open a Stripe or Paypal account.

I don't want to be bound to Clickbank for e-book sales because I will be out of business if Clickbank decides to cancel my account for some reason, and also Clickbank fees are high (I don't depend on their affiliate network for my sales) so I'm looking for alternative platforms that handle payment processing on my behalf.

Does anyone here know any?

    When your location limits payments options, you should be grateful that Clickbank is available to sell your ebooks.


    Doubtful you will find anything with lower fees that customers are willing to use to make payments.

    Square is another good one but I am not sure if your country banned them too or if they offer service in your country.

    Bkelly301, Turkish government required Paypal to keep their servers in Turkey in compliance with the Turkish banking law but Paypal refused to comply so they were banned from operating in Turkey.

    Gumroad will allow you to process payments and even accept Paypal without actually needing your own Paypal account. It's processed through their account and they just send you money to your bank account or debit card.

    You can also accept crypto payments like Bitcoin and Monero.

    Edit: Nevermind the Gumroad option, apparently if you're outside of the U.S. you need your own Paypal account: https://help.gumroad.com/article/152...-in-my-country

    For accepting Bitcoin, checkout OpenNode.co or BTCpayserver. For Monero checkout Globee!

    Steve L, thank you for your concern, I had checked Gumroad before. Thank you for the crypto options but I'm looking exactly for what you described in your opening paragraph: accepting Paypal without actually needing my own Paypal account.

    Along with E-Junkie and SendOwl, I inquired Selz.com, Payloadz, Payhip, Tradebit, and Jvzoo but all of them require Paypal and/or Stripe.

    Can you self-publish eBooks on Amazon? Or is it bound by those same government edicts?

    I know what you mean on Turkey and government rules; I could not access any payment processors of mine during my recent 2 month trip to Cappadocia. You will find a way, buddy.

    Thanks Ryan. The problem with Amazon is that they don't transfer the earnings directly to Turkish bank accounts. They issue checks which are hard to convert to cash here in Turkey. That's why I never tried publishing on Amazon.

    Clickbank sends directly to my Payoneer account so I receive payments without hassle.

      I was going to recommend GumRoad but it looks like you have already looked into them.


      Also you can receive payments from Amazon via Payoneer. This is how I get paid from them. You looks like you already have a Payoneer account.

    Sometimes governments make it difficult for the citizens to operate. I will just help to pray so that your government can see sense and allow PayPal to operate in your country. Otherwise, for now, stick to Clickbank you have limited options.

    Medon, thank you. It looks like I will have to stick to Clickbank and hope that nothing goes wrong or else there seems to be no close alternative.

    I'm also looking at e-residence in Estonia which will allow me to set up an internet company in Estonia and open a commercial paypal account and run my business that way. I hope I can pull it off.

    The answer to your question is not simple, when people see PP/CB, they are most likely to make a purchase since they know it is safe. CB won't cancel your account without a serious reason. So I would ask myself does changing the payment processor to the one that is not popular is a good idea (you will see most likely less sales I quess).

    vashet, thanks for your comment. I hope what you are saying about CB is correct because it looks like I don't have a plethora of alternatives should CB decide to pull the rug from under me. I read comments saying that they suspend accounts for 1% of chargeback rates and although thankfully, I didn't have to deal with a chargeback yet, there are no guarantees in life. I would feel a lot more confident to have alternatives.

    About the trust; I am driving traffic to my sales page through my own blog, so I want to think that my readers already trust me before they make a purchase.

      I think you should be safe. I was on CB in the 'worst' niche - Forex, and I had not a single account being suspended.

    mrrightme, that's correct. 60 days no questions asked refund is fine if the vendors want to do it but you don't have a chance to not do it when you sell at CB. I for one wouldn't want to offer a 60 day no questions asked but I have no other option.

    Stripe provides a separate service called Atlas, through which they register a company in Delaware, USA, which you can use with their main service to start processing orders. They basically do the accounting stuff for you for a fee of $500/year. I haven't used them personally, but in your situation, it seems like something that you might be interested in.

    There are also cheaper alternatives to get an LTD registered via a similar proxy service in the UK, but I don't have a specific example in mind, you might want to investigate that. After you get the LTD, you can use that with Stripe.

    Kreyer, thank you. Stripe Atlas procedure looks like setting up a European Union company in Estonia via e-residency program. That's a nice alternative to have. I will look at getting an LTD registered in UK as well.

    One things to clear, do you sell e-books as affiliate or vendor on clickbank?
    If you are a vendor, you can have a e commerce account with wix and Stripe then offers you an account where you can accept payments via cards as well as paypal from customers
