Best Area For Optin & Video On Blog?

Hey guys,

Thanks for checking out this post!

My video opt-in pages get 30 - 40% of visitors opting in. Its a strong opt-in page because I have an awesome opt-in video that has been revised many times.

Instead of linking my blog's traffic to an opt-in page, I would love to have the video and an opt-in forum right on my blog.

So my questions is:

What is the best place to put this video and opt-in forum on my Wordpress Blog?

Upper left or upper right in the sidebar, with an additional optin or link to an optin near the bottom of where your posts resolve.

IE, you can add an optin or link that appears at the bottom of every post automatically.

Typically, people read from left to right (well in the us anyway) so think about where your visitors eyes are going to go first.

If you want them to read content on the blog first then put opt-in on the right corner.

The research I've done and guys like Tim Ferris have done with heatmaps and crazyegg.com shows that top right is the prime placement on a blog. Your post confirmed that top is the way to go but I still don't really get why its top right when, as you said, we read from Left To Right.

Personally, I put it on the right. I don't want to be too "in your face" when you visit my sites. But I have seen it in both places.

Also, I do want people to come and get something from the actual content on the blog.
