Default Parabots Enterprise Version

Does anyone know where I can buy Kavi's
Parabots Enterprise Version? I am looking
to buy but I cannot find the link anywhere.

He's giving it for free at Parabots.com but
that's only the personal version. I can't
find the link to purchase the full version
on the site.

I know he has removed support for this product, therefore Im assuming he will have stopped selling this altogether, and it was rather expensive to put on sale for free!

As a Enterprise customer, Im rather worried at finding the download installation file I have been keeping safe, incase of needing to reinstall it (Which I do as my server crashed, big style!) is totally useless!

The V3 enterprise version never quite made it to public release, though I do believe it did exist, and could be requested. But the only version in the members area was for V2. Anyone using the V3 enterprise version is OK, as they will have recieved all the files in the script

Unlike the version you get free now, the files were not given to you as such.

The V2 Enterprise edition, which came as a single cgi file which when run installed all the neccessary files for the system.

But as the URL that it must have got the files from has obviously been removed, it now just installs a load of .CGI files with the right names, but are in fact error pages all from the parabots site!!

Ive asked for a copy of the files, that I can preserve and use in the future

I completely understand Parabots is no longer supported, and I agree its totally the customers responsibility to keep backup copys of any purchases, which I did!

If theres anyone else using the enterprise edition (non .php version) They Should download a copy of their entire system NOW!

And DO NOT RUN THE INSTALLER AGAIN as you will totally disteroy your entire installation! In fact Id delete it, just incase!

Im sure this a complete oversite on Kavi's part, and I'm sure hell correct it. I let you know how I get on!

It is very difficult to get hold of Kawi now. I have sent various support ticket to him from Parabots Autoresponder System but I have not received any reply from him. I even signed his news letter from this URL. I get his emails through auto responders but he never reply back to my emails.

I have enterprise V2 but recently I had to change my server and I wanted to re install v2 but now it gives an error as it does not support previous user name and password stored on his server.

I am using the cgi enterprise version without a problem. When I got it for $250 it wasn't working and kavi just ignored my emails that really cheesed me off. Eventually I got it to work a year later. I did get hold of him and got the php version installed it and it seems to work fine but I am still using the cgi version. Glad I got this post here for not using the installer.

The program is nice and works well for me. I downloaded the free one on his site that works ok and I get a marketing email from him at least 3 times a week for subscribing to his list but he didn't play the game and I will never buy from him again. I tracked him to some other site offering a complete online office setup. I can't remember what the site was but send him a support email there on something else and soon as he responded nailed him and that is when he send me the php enterprise version.

Search "where is kavi from parabots" and you will find the site. You can't hide from google

Did you know that for $17 you can create your own Video Articles Instantly

I would strongly advise you download a COMPLETE copy of your cgi-bin right now.

Oh I have used the V3 enterprise version of Parabots, and it nearly destroyed my business completely (And a mailing list into the bargain!) From experience, the V2 version was far more stable, and, whilst TOTALLY un-customizable, IE it used a single template with a %%tag%% for pretty much every page, I think its simplicity you can work with.

In V3, when used to broadcast to a decent size list, (3500+) it had a "quirky" little habit, of "locking" which I'm assuming was timing out. From memory, there then appears an "unlock" link, which when clicked starts the script again. The problem was, it did so FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE LIST!
Whilst it didn't "lock" again, I found this was due to it was now sending in a loop from the start subscriber to where it locked, then repeating the step again and again

I had eliminated the server side as being a factor, it was hosted on a dedicated server, for its usage only. But to be honest, when about 1100 or so of your customers subscriber list have received the same message 6-7 Times, WITHIN A 30 MINUTE PERIOD, Your concerns are elsewhere.

I don't think I need explain what kind of mood the customer was in, or the deluge of complaints they received. We're talking about the potential distruction of someones main income here, not what I'd call a "bug" LOL!

I was totally powerless to stop it, and thank god to having root server access, I capped the damage that end by canceling them as they appeared in the mail queue.

I eventually stopped the loop, by DELETING Parabots, totally, and rebooting my server

I am no programmer, but I kinda know my way around php code enough to get me by, but the script is completely ioncube encoded, and whilst I support any programmer's right to protect their products, I do believe with the right of protection comes a certain degree of responsibility. Like support!!

Sure I could have got it decoded, but at a price, but why the hell should I? didn't I pay for it already? I sure wasn't going to waste any more cash. Since then, if a script is encoded, that will stop me buying it, no matter how much it suits my needs.

Unless you can ensure either 100% support for when things go wrong, I'm just not prepared to take the risk. There are exceptions to this.

Sam Stephens of DLGuard is a prime example, he answers every support ticket personally, and whilst the script is coded in the same way, I have never WANTED to look at it...

It does what I want, as I want it too.

Since then I found a solution that suits me perfectly: The script I use now has full access to the customer side php files, as well as a template based system. And the admin side is encoded. Suites me perfectly!

If I wanted to steal it, I would, and know how to do it too.

But as all I want is access to control something that I know I'm not going to get help or advice from the Vendor about, I don't think that's too much to ask!

The frustration of knowing the actual file you want to look at, but are not allowed to see, is unbelievable, especially so when all you can do is watch as it does the unthinkable!

So the reason I mentioned the installer issue for V2, is most users still using it, don't want to change, but also probably don't realize their installed copy, is even more precious than they think! And the installer has now become VERY dangerous!

I still use V2, only residually, and even with low limits on the usage levels, I am cautious.

So, we have V2 that will destroy your installation, or V3 that will destroy your business! What a choice.. LOL!

I think Kavi was totally right to offer the script free without support, as that had gone a long time ago anyway. And I completely understand that his business demands were pulling him in a different direction.

My objection is more to the fact that customers who DID help him make money, are left with what in essence is useless. And in some cases like the installer script, actually damaging!

Still no reply from Kavi's support desk.....

Is the free version also totally useless now?

Regarding his new venture, it is here:

Any idea where to get a users manual? I just started using parabots and while most is pretty self explanatory I need some info on importing my lists without having to have them re-up AGAIN
