I Flip My 2 Months Review Site For $5000

Hey guys,

I sold my 2 months old site at flippa for $5000. Looking back it was not that difficult at all.

I would like to share it here.....

I started the site just using free WPp theme promoting Clickbank products in the competitive niche. I found only one low competition keyword that convert like CRAZY that earned me $500 Clickbank commission in the 2nd month. My WP products review site was rank no 3 at that time and I scale it up by registered more Web2.0 properties. By doing that I managed to dominate 4 spot on the first page of Google and later WP review site rank 1st spot because of the high PR anchor text link from the Web2.0 properties.

I was tempted to try new thing. After that I put my site for sales in Flippa and it was gone within a week. The buyer paid me 10X of more from my Clickbank earning.

In conclusion simple system really work dun complicate stuff!

Flipping can make a good income provided you sell your site especially income generated site is in high demand. All web designer can make a new website site but not many can make a money site.

That's a good chunk of change. I also sold one a few weeks ago for $750.00. It was ranking on the first page of Google for about 5 different keywords. The site was also about 2 months old. Although the site wasn't making much on clickbank, it still sold since it was ranking well.

FreshMedia: I only use organic search. As my focus is only on 3 keywords that rank. All effort into ranking those keywords.

Dude, you need to wake up!

You're right it isn't easy, nothing for $5k ever is (that's legal anyways)

Even if it took him a week to build that site and another week to monetize it, even a month for that matter, and he "only" sells it for half that amount next time around...so what?

Get one or two of them going and do the math.

If you can build a site that generates even a small amount of revenue in a niche, you're golden and you can either continue monetizing that site yourself or sell if for 10x what the monthly revenue is it generates.

It's like virtual real estate and "investors" will pay for a site that is already generating cash every day/month.

Maybe he won't get $5k on his next site, maybe he "only" gets $1k and it took him a week or less to build and get indexed. I'd pop the cork over that, hale ya!

It's done every day and steven seven just proved it.

You don't know much about flipping websites, I gather. His results are typical of a site that is making good money, has competitive keywords and great position in Google.

I sold it to a Web Designer Firm who happen know a lot about PR and concerned about the age of the site.mmm... may be he needs to find out the secret why this site do so well.

cashcow: I spend average 2 hours solid each day on traffic generation. I got a rather keywords that I could compete and put lot of effort into socialbookmarking(own & outsource), articles submission(Isnare, major articles sites-own & outsouce), pr submit(outsource), directory submit(directory submitter), video submit(TubeMongul), Web 2.0 properties(SlideShare, Hubpages, Squidoo, Wetpaint.....) Maybe around $100 +-. I only outsource it when I started to make money.

ABOUT THE NICHE


I was with my friend one day chatting and drinking BEER. and he told me about the respond from a forex seminar local. Ooop... I lick the niche. What the hack ? People going for this type of seminar have money to spend. Who will go to forex seminar if you do not have money ? I wouldn't. The learning process path is difficult at least not short term and potential of losing money is relatively high. So if you have something that at least minimize their lost you already got a Winner.


After I came back , the first thing I did was I went to the Clickbank Market Place to look at some products gravity, ranking, popularity, ref and other stuff to see how the market respond to these products. Well the conclusion was good. Got demand and high gravity where people are actually buying.

I am now starting to see the power of site flipping.

I started an electrial contracting website to generate leads for my "day job" at a technology company. As any IMer would (in a sales position!) try and generate their own leads to grow the business.

Long story short, I left that job, leads still come in here and there, yet haven't closed a thing...

Standard rates.

1. For sites that are earning you can sell it for:
12 X monthly income

2. For Membership sites (with actual member)
36 X monthly earnings

For every success story there is always a story for everyone to watch out for.

I too was interested in buying sites from flippa. The thought of buying a site and living off the monthly income that it generated got me excited.

It was almost similar to buying real estate. Buy a bunch of websites that generated positive cash flow and live like a king. Plus buying websites cost alot less than real estate properties.

Anyway, there was one site that was on sale of flippa but it was too good to be true. Good thing I did my research on it before I bought it. The site was selling for 40K and "stated" that it was making 5,600 month. Reason for selling was: getting married.

I played with all the sites links and pushed the purchase button. I wasn't sure what marketplace service the site was using though. (I'm sure it wasn't paypal).

Low and behold........a message displayed:

This site has been banned from our system, we are no longer taking orders.

So whatever he did.....I'm not sure...it got him banned from his checkout service.

So that's my story for you guys looking to buy websites.......be very careful.

Yup, always, always always practice due deligience when buying sites...

Carefull with fake PR sites, misdiclared income, buggy sites etc.
make sure you test them, register to the site or test buy if needed.

Let drill down some real stuff. Here is my keyword research guideline.


In my experience these at the 3 best keywords that help me to generate most of my affiliate income : Best...., Top..... and …...2009.


At the time …..
Google Adwords Tool about 2000-4000 per months
Competing Site around 1,000,000 in “xxxx”
Sites on 1st page less than PR3
Web 2.0 properties ranking on the 1st page.


Choosing a good domain name is an art. Go for a more generic name so that you can review more than one products. Using this method also will help you write review content easily.


In my opinion do not go for words like xxxscam.com/xxxdownload.com/xxxbonus.com because we want to be seen as neutral in all angle.


Focus to register a domain name with one of the keyword you would like to rank. Domain name keyword domination carried a lot of weight in SE. You are seen relevant to Google, effort to rank the site will be less as compare to another site does not have this criteria.


Install a WP theme with very simple layout. Only display Categories and Post on the side bar. These are the plug in you need All in one SEO, Global Translator, Google Sitemap, SEO Friendly Images, SEO Slugs, Share This and Simple Link Cloaker. Also robot, htaccess and xml sitemap. You can add more if you like. Set permission 755.


In your All in One SEO put in the put the home title 3 keywords that you want to rank. Example: keyword 1 | keyword 2 | keyword 3. In the description tag insert these keywords as well as keywords tag.


Remember to state and inform the visitor why you put up this review site. Example xxxreview.com is popular review site dedicated to provide only the only 10 best products in the marketplace....with most download or purchase.....


Insert about 10 products review articles post every 2 days.

Each of us somewhat have our own learning curve. I am sure you are growing preparing yourself for thing you are ready for.

Have a open mind to learn from other not neccesary to follow them. Shut off from any changing plan and focus on the thing you believe and doing . You only change provided you have given enought time to test your method and not working.

yommys01: I have been testing many keywords in the past. Different niches have their own set of buying keywords and some do overlap. A lot of Forex investors are afraid to loss money and they are aware that it is part of the game. They are definately looking for best, top, low rick, guarantee, win and etc to help them to make money in their buying decision. I bet you they will definately spend.
