I'm doing keyword research for a sniper site and am getting drastically different search volume figures from Keyword Elite V2 and Google Keywords Tool. I have the Google tool set to Exact Match since I believe the phrase and broad figures are too inflated. I have the Keyword Elite V2 Keyword Surge settings checked off to use Google and tried it with and without the Keyword Elite Engine checked off. Now KE tells me the search volume is 570 per month while the Google Keyword Tool indicates there are 12,100 under Global Monthly Search Volume column. The Local Search Volume is 6,600. If I'm basing an entire site on these figures, I'd prefer to see a little more agreement between KE and Google than this. Whose figures should I base such an important decision on? Many Thanks George |

George, when using the Google Keyword Tool, make sure you've selected the "exact" match rather than "broad" match. That's what most third party keyword tools use, and is the more realistic number. And use the 'local' result rather than the 'global'. EDIT: Sorry, I just reread your post and see you are doing this. In that case, I don't know why you're getting such a discrepancy! |

I've used... Wordtracker Traffice Travis Nichebot Keyword Discovery Theme Zoom and many many more and guess what? None of them are the same. If you pick longtails with decent numbers you'll be fine. Test, test, test. |
