How do I get a phsical product into Amazon for sales? (not books)

Wondering if anyone has ever gotten a product into Amazon and if they have any advice on how to best do this?

I know a manufacturer interested in selling a something through them and am wondering if anyone here has done it?

I am aware of that but unless I am misunderstanding, it can not do what I want. I sell things through Amazon myself as an affiliate but that's not really what I am asking.

What I want to do is get THEIR product into the AMAZON system not Amazon products into THEIR system.

I want customers to be able to go to amazon.com and type in their product example say 'acme red widgets' and have it come up in their search results.
