Hi Warriors,
I'm new here and I hope this hasn't been discussed before.. Last year I bought about 30 .asia domains. Mostly good names like one word domain names. I tried to sell a few some weeks ago without success. I believe there is a future for the .asia domains, since the internet market in asia is booming despite the financial crises. The new generation of asians often learn english from a kindergarden level on. So why not go for .asia? I thought.. Will it be as good as .net or even .com in the future? What do you think about it? Thanks for sharing. kohaku |

Hey there
Well, it could be quite good for SEO having those names in your url, if you were using ppc then I guess it doesn't matter too much. I think that .com will always rule, regardless of the country it is in, but you've probably not lost much by buying them. I would wait however beofre buying a ton more to see what happens with the market. Phil |

Difficult to sell a .ASIA domain as the buyer has to have a company registered in Asia. We bought one for our company, but we are registered in Hong Kong, and had to give our company registration details before the sale was finalised.

After today's- or yesterday's- release from Icann that they were going to let non-latin characters as domain suffixes, .asia could be in trouble. Don't know, though- where are you targeting? Most people in India speak English thanks to colonial rule. That could be a good form of targeting. Can't think of any Asian languages off-hand that are written in Latin scripts.

I agree! .com is the best option. I think you did waste your money if your trying to reach the world. If you are only reaching Asia....maybe its alright.

Not many high ticket sales with the .Asia extension at all. There are people who have bid $xxxx to fetch asia domains during the land rush period and are at a loss. Don't fret we all make mistakes, I have made mine and learnt from it you shall too.
When in doubt head for a .com,.net,.org and if you want to invest in some of the newly released tld's then .me is your best option. Revolves |
