I had a chance to go through some softwares but as I am a Mac user finding it hard to move between windows to load these softwares. Can anyone suggest me softwares related to IM on Mac platform? |

Your best option would be to get Parallels 4 as most progs that are out for IM are done on pc not mac. Hate to break it to you but i am in the same boat as you. I have a mac and have found out that most pieces of software for IM are on PC only so either get yourself bootcamp and install windows on that or parallels 4 and do it that way...

Suggest either waiting for parallels 5 or using Vmware Fusion 3, which just came out. I just got Fusion 3 and am finding it very convenient to use the windows-based tools. |

I suppose my first question would be...What sort of software are you looking to use on your Mac? I use a Mac every day and - so far - have not encountered any sort of overwhelming need for specialized software to run on it. Text editors, Site creators, Keyword tools, Word processing -- all have equivalents on the Mac platform. Which program are you needing that can't be duplicated on the Mac? Regards, --JR Rich |

If you have windows to install, might I suggest trying virtualbox (virtualbox.org) as a VM system first? I use it and it's fine - saved me the $80 or so on vmware. Annoying as all get out cause the equivalents are free on linux/windows - they're just 'practicing good business' on the mac market, and (imo) gouging them. You might have a specialized need for vmware, but i run win7 just fine in it on my osx snow leopard.
