Default Wordpress - Multiple Blogs

Hello...

Easy question I think for a lot of you:

If you have your own hosting account and then you install Wordpress, can you have multiple blogs with this one hosting account/domain and Wordpress installation?

Thanks!

Sure, you can have multiple blogs. Most hosts allow for a good handful of databases. So you can have at least that many. You would install each blog into its own folder.

Even if you only have a single database with your host Wordpress supports a table name prefix so you can have multiple blogs in the same db.

I have another thought for you.

Word Press MU, works great, install one blog
have as many as you want.

I bought a set of videos from a Warrior named Jamie Smith
at Rapid Fire VRE - How To Build VRE Sites To Make Money With Adsense that explained everything.

This is not an affiliate link.

Even better I think that wordpress MU from an installation point of view is wp-hive from WP Hive - Multiple WordPress Blogs with a Single Installation.

It really shouldn't be a free plug in, its completely awesome. Log into one of your blogs on the hive and you can update plugins on the lot.

Holy crap. Such a thing exists? I exclusively use WP and its always a pain to get each new installation up-to-date with my favorite plugins and themes, even before adding any content.

Blatant self-promotion to be inserted.

Hi Andyf,
If your host has Cpanel / Fantastico - it's a snap to install blogs anytime into sub directories on the same domain.

You can use the "Add-On" Domains feature to create a whole new set of blogs under a separate domain.

If you want to get really wild, some hosts even allow you to you can assign different IPs to different domains to build your own SEO Network.

Of course these blogs all require completely separate logins.

All The Best!

No worries. If anyone has any problems with the install I am debating writing a blog post about it so let me know and I will get it up there.

Took me a while to get it installed properly but now its a dream!

Andyf,

You can have multiple blogs in your account as you want. Blog installation is easy. Just add one domain and then install the blog. Even you can install blog in one domain under different folder. For example - http://domainname.com/blog/

Regards
Chandan

Thanks everyone. As usual, there is always great input. I had a blog a good while ago, but don't have it or the hosting account any longer so I couldn't really try to add another WP blog in the same account.

Sounds like the answer is yes and is quite easy.

Thanks again!
