Default Best paid PR distribution service

Any opinions on the best press release distribution services? A couple of firms recently upped their pricing (way up!). Any thoughts on other options would be appreciated!

Well, Press Release Distribution Services - WebWire still distributes theirs for $19 (as of today anyway -- I just sent one out!).

And then there's Free Press Release - Online Press Release Distribution Service where I would go for the 1 buck option (though I can't tell just how much exposure I'm getting from that).

Which ones are the ones that have increased their prices?

Thanks.

Elisabeth

I use PR Web, and have found them to bring better quality traffic and a stronger chance of a journalist or site owner actually reading it.

Yeah,

I say ditto to PR Web. Their about the best in the business, and the places they distribute to, are most of the best place you can be listed.

Call me old-fashioned, but the only way I've ever gotten traction out of a press release is to blast it to actual reporters myself. What's so hard about making your own list? Sure, it might take a few hours of research, but you can target it specifically to those reporters in those outlets that are most relevant.

Your thoughts on how to compile such a list would be helpful.

Actually, I too supplement my online press releases with some direct submissions to targeted print media.

I just Google "[state] newspaper" and all the info I need can be gotten there.

I go to the newspaper link, find out where to send press releases etc.

If I know any of the reporters or their work, I send them the info directly.

And then I compile a list of the fax numbers and email addresses for future reference.

Go to publications in your niche, find the editors' contact information, put it in a spreadsheet. Rip the e-mails out of the spreadsheet and blast your release. Do the same for fax #s.
