should i get an email list

hi there,

i am soon going to be setting up a few squeeze pages for various products i will promote.

should i get an aweber account now, or wait to see if i am doing things right, getting traffic/sales etc before paying out to get an autoresponder/email list?

i dont have much money spare off my job so paying monthly fee without knowing if i will get any back is a bit worrying

Remember that all you need to do is make 1 or 2 sales a month to cover the cost of aweber. A good squeezepage and follow-up series should mean that you get paid to build your list, and anything from the broadcasts is an added extra.

What niche are you targeting, and what is the url for your squeezepage?

Remember to include a confirm page with details of the double opt-in, and then put something like Jeff Dedericks Instant Bonus on your thank-you page.

Hope it goes well for you, and even if you just add 2-3 leads per day you should be covering the cost of aweber.

Go get one.. You might be sceptical whther you would be able to pay for the monthlies when you're just starting out, but trust me that you would.

If there is anything that helped transform my life from a lowly pump attendant to a full time IMer, i would credit email marketing and the power of my list size.

Although all you ever hear is "money is in the list" "you must build a list" does not mean you need to build a list. Building a list and managing that list is not for everybody. Some like it and some don't... There is more to having a list then just sending out letters pushing a product to sell..

So before you listen to anyone, make sure it is something that "you" want to do and not do it just because the crowd does it. You can perfectly make money without a list but this depends upon what you do and how you manage things.

Yes I say get a list. The money is in the list. Just think of it in the long term if you had a big list of 30k and you sent 1 promotional email out , you'd cash out like crazy!

If you don't have a list then you wouldn't be successful in internet marketing... a list is key!

      Anywayz Good luck dude.

Now go up and read Troy's post and learn something.. Because your advice is just plain bad advice and you are stating your opinion as facts.

The money is in the list - Wrong this is not a fact

If you don't have a list then you wouldn't be successful in internet marketing - Wrong again and this is not a fact

First off understand ... I will not sell to you without first getting your information .

I am that confident in my ability to sell multiple times to my list .

This is the way I do things ...might not be for you .

I hear how the money is in the list . Nothing could be further from the truth.

Some come closer to the answer with.... The money is in the relationship with your list .
Close but still not 100% correct .

I used to tend to try to give 3 times more than I expect in return from my list . Only when I started giving and quit expecting anything in return did I see success with my list .

Now this is not to say I do not monetize my list . I always provide a vehicle for my list to pay me .

By giving and not expecting ...I monetize on the relationship with my list .

Are you ready for this .... this is still not the answer to the list thing .

Some people make a lot of money from their list and never do anything but send them offers and a no reply address. No relationship whatsoever.

One list builder sends emails every day ...others every week... some when they have something of importance (this could be yearly, monthly, weekly, daily)

The money is only in the list if you know how your list responds .

This wisdom either comes from having multiple list and testing different ways you correspond with them or doing that list thing your way and building a list that is responsive to your way .

I do the my way thing as stated above . It is just a lot less work for me to be ...well me . Is this the best way to build a list . I don't know . I have only tried it my way .

I will tell you that if you try to give first , be a help, be yourself ,all while trying to monetize, it is a lot of work to set up an autoresponder and maintain a list .

A well maintained , responsive list will make you more money in the long run than several quick money ventures .

It will not make money as quickly as the shot in the dark route .

I ask you . Should you get an email list?

    • Get an AWEBER account!!!!

Personally , regardless what fellow warriors views are on here i think we would all more or less agree its best to leverage any marketing effort

whether you find use for leads you could potentially gather or not...either way they are better captured, versus thinking left later 'mmm this is a good niche for me...i just spend $200 on driving traffic to a page where i didn't capture my traffic'..which obviously doesnn't always buy straight of the bat

as they say, typically prospects must see the message 7 times (done via aweber autoresponder) in order to ever buy...

not to say it will be totally doom and gloom but get aweber!!
