Default What is the best way to reach nonwebmaster site owners?

I would like to target people who own websites but aren't webmasters. For example plastic surgeons, mechanics, cleaning services, etc...

What do you guys think is the best method to marketing to these people?

I know I can get email lists or whatever but I would rather do something other than that.

Has anyone used the radio or other offline methods to reach these people?

Yea that will be perfect and you can do that online at - Talk Radio Podcast - Blog Talk Radio

All you need to do is target the specific niche - If you want plastic surgeons, mechanics or cleaning services. Just create a website targeted to the niche and add content relevent to the niche. Once your site is indexed in google and starts ranking. You will soon attract the exact target audience you want, coming to you. Now that's natural search engine traffic - Traffic that are searching for you and landing on your website. Now that you have them in your court, do whatever you want to try...

Or better - Create a community at www.ning.com exclusively for the exact niche audience you want.

The answer is niche marketing, and there are many ways to do that other than those listed above...

Hope this helps...

Well I run a link building service and would like to help people get their sites ranking better that don't have the time and expertise to do it themselves. Pretty much any brick and mortar business with a website would be a candidate.

I think they would be an easier sell than webmaster do it yourselfers.

I'm wondering how effective a radio spot would be since just about every business owner has a website nowadays. I think hearing it over the radio would give my site much more credibility than email for instance.

Any more comments?

Go to a library and use SRDS (Standard Rate & Data) Mailing list directory to find an industry and mailing list. Rent the list and send a sales letter or postcard to drive them to your website. That way you could personalize both your snail mail and website for the particular niche, ie Doctors, Lawyers, etc.

Look up the domain name's whois information for the site owner you want to contact, and call them up on the phone. Phone calls are very effective at getting responses from website owners.

Good idea. I think I will do it. I hope the list isn't too expensive.

Maybe a professional letter explaining that optimizing their site is only one side of the equation and if they really want to dominate their competitors and generate a ton of business from online referrals then they will have to build incoming links.

hmm.....

I was thinking of that, or just going straight to their site and call their contact number. I just don't like talking and especially selling on the phone. I wish I did, it would be cheaper than buying clicks or sending mail.
