hello Warriors,

I am normally a person that likes drupal but I have been giving Wordpress a fair crack of the whip recently and I am growing to like it!

At the moment I am designing a site for a forum user of mine as a sort of favour. HOwever I am a little puzzled as to how to do a menu with wordpress.

So the menu I am looking to have is called "services" and then I would like to have each option say "skimming" "Rendering" ecct ect and they link to a page! how do I do this? in Drupal its a doddle but I just cant seem to suss it... I am probably over complicating things.

Anyway thanks for the help

Danny

    Hi Danny

There are a few factors that will make a difference to how this appears on your site.

The major one is What Theme/Template you are using?

That aside if you are referring to having the 2 pages being child pages of "services" then on the right hand side of the "page edit/new page" screen under the heading Attributes you have the option to make a page the child of another.

    Example Text Below:-
    Parent
Page Parent Main Page (no parent)About
You can arrange your pages in hierarchies, for example you could have an "About" page that has "Life Story" and "My Dog" pages under it. There are no limits to how deeply nested you can make pages.

Hope this helps, if not connected to pages just let me know.

    Cheers James

Ah ok so it is pretty simple. Drupal uses parent child ect.

The theme is a custom theme also, things are never impossible with wordpress... beginning to really like it!

    Thanks

Used it now for over a year, don't think you can beat it for customisation and usability especially if it's not you updating the content.

Don't think I would go back to Joomla.

Not 100% sure if this is what you are talking about.

      Go to Admin>Pages
      Create the pages you need.
One page will be the parent.
On the right side of the page you are editing you will see an attributes column. Then you will see a parent heading with a drop down list. On each subpage choose the page you want as the parent and they will become the subpage of that main page.
