I've been reading the Delavarian Marketing manuals and without divulging what they talk about I can say teamwork and associations are touted to be a big part of success online. I believed this long before I read these manuals and have tried to start a few teams myself but no go since everyone seems to be all for themselves when they are new and closed off to their own team when they are successful. My question is: Does anyone here have a team or brotherhood that they have home grown from marketers who are their peers and if so, how did you go about doing this? By team, I don't mean outsourced workers. I mean what others around here call the good ole boy network, do you have one? If you don't have one are you interested in forming one to collaborate on market research, product creation, marketing and more? Even after all this time (3 years) I'm still looking for a team and I have a lot of experience but no one man or woman can start and grow a real business alone. So, please give me your insights on this thread and if you are interested in team building, please do pm me. I'm looking for anybody with talent to work with, btw, my talent is learning to make things work like html, script install, graphics creation, hosting issues, basically an all around jack of trades. Any specialists? Ok, end of ramble.. |

forming a team must have a significant impact to your business i have been thinking to have my young brother to share the workload of IM for me but he is still in college, so he won't help me, too bad |

Most times, people show interest but that is all. Insane really considering that people will buy from those they don't know but won't try to make money with those they can get to know. I would think the optimal group would need: A researcher A writer A copywriter A tech A marketer A figurehead A programmer An analyst What do you think?

Anyways, I think you're on the right track. If I didn't live 2 days away from you, I would def meet up and see what we could do. I like you're list, too. I feel like right now I am trying to play ball, but play every position myself. It is def more effective to have the whole roster. Good luck with everything, keep it up. - Tommy

| The missing link, I think this is the difference with making a small amount online and hitting the big time. We all try and manage by ourselves and it can't be done, yes we may outsource work but when we are constantly having to recruit outsourcers and check their work it defeats the object. The IM world seems to be so "closed door" sometimes if we only got together as you suggest and teamed up we could make our lives a lot easier. What's wrong are we scared of sharing the information or is it sharing the pot of "Gold" that does it. Just my penny's worth James |

I'm not looking for a team as much as one reliable, ambitious partner. To me, collaboration on projects wouldn't even be as important as motivating each other, pushing each other to do better and bouncing ideas off each other.

BTW, you don't actually have to meet up to have a team, at least not right away. Just set up systems in place to insure trust until trust is gained and work with such things as online collaboration tools and such. I actually have one set up at: Team Login that I will be using to collaborate with team members when I find some.

| A true brotherhood won't mismanage any group resources, if they do, you kick them out.

I'm actually building a network of blogs right now to use as traffic generators for my clients and partners. It is so much better to rely on your own resources than services like EZA and Google. Part of the team effort will be to also get someone to manage the blogs, any takers?

For example, I can do a little of everything and probably more than most marketers. I even code, tweak code and program, a little but I'm not great at it and it takes me a long long time.

The main problem for me is that the people I would partner with (from real-life) and even teach them have no interest in this style of life. They decided consciously to become drones. For some, I can understand it because the corporate world offers them the fulfillment of their dreams (one is a researcher working in a pretty good lab, for example). For most others, while they complain they always say "no" when I try to convince them :-/ What I want to achieve in the longterm is a group of cool people I know who all have their own businesses, but help each other out all the time with ideas, suggestions and feedback. Of course the occasional partner project included. |

Hi Andrew, the JV section of the Warrior Forum is a great place to interact and find some good Mastermind team members. I got to know some great potential partners/team-members from there. |

Hi Andrew, I have my brothers in my team. I started off with a very good friend of mine when we first knew about the existence of IM. Now, it is a team of 3. The third team mate is a friend who is very good in programming but not really in IM. However, his skills complement what our team is lacking. Now, interestingly, my team has spreaded onto this forum and I have new brothers (aka Warriors) in my team too. Though we have never really met face to face before, after doing many small projects, the team works well even for long distance relationships. John |

Could it be that the group you need is actually "The butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker"? More shortly. From your post I get a feeling you want to collaborate with people but I'm not sure on what. You have a large list of talents. From your post you could be the leader of a seminar and all the participants who would gravitate toward you may or may not have a lot of knowledge to contribute. They may want a learning experience more than a brotherhood of "good ol' boys". So, back to the first group I mentioned, the butcher, baker and candlestick maker". Could it be the LOCAL group you need is other successful business people PERIOD. A group of people who are currently successful in business, but not necessarily your business. The Chamber of Commerce comes to mind. Like minded business people joining and meeting for the purpose of sharing business ideas and overcoming common problems. You've already said you've had a problem getting a group together, why not try to get a different type of group going, or join one that is already in existence? Are you looking for IM help or are you looking for motivation. Are you looking for tips and techniques or are you looking for inspiration? Long ago there was a post in the WF about a site where you can find any type local group to join. I can't find my bookmark to it, but googled "find local social groups" and found Do something, Learn something, Share something, Change something - Meetup.com I entered my topic, my zip code and came up with some interesting groups in a subject I typed in. I am not sure this is the site I learned about before, but it is the type of "search for groups" site I am talking about. One group I found that is along the lines you are looking for, but in my zip code area, is "Ventura County Mastermind Alliance & Achievement Team" Maybe there is a similar group in your area. Maybe just the group you are looking for is already in your area and looking for you. |

I'm looking for a "team/brotherhood" where we all share in the work, resources and while providing really needed products and services not rehashed stuff. I belong to a local group of writers and I know people who are interested in IM but the same problem persist offline as online, people are interested but don't want to commit. As stated, I think the right team needs at the very least: A researcher A writer A copywriter A tech A marketer A figurehead A programmer An analyst I don't want to be charge, I don't want to outsource. I want to have people who just want to make money and provide good service. It does not matter in what market, or niche. As far as being a leader of a seminar, I could teach what I like to call Foundational Marketing (the basics of building an online business with tech skills) but I'm not ready for such. I'm not looking for motivation or tips but a set or working partners for lack of a better term. I hope that clears it up some..

To be honest with you I agree that working with others is a great way to get results. Just put your self out there and show your talents. If you have an idea. Ill work with you?

I don't have a particular idea for a group to work on, that would come once a group is formed. The group would decide what it wanted to do then do it. I appreciate the offer and possibly, you may want to join the group I created on the forum (in my sig). BTW - what is your specialty?

| I came across my team and brotherhood when I first got started online in the home business opportunity and network marketing niches, these were individuals I shared a lot with in common, most likely the reason why I still communicate with my small but select group of friends online. We help each other grow and expand our online businesses together. It makes getting rich a lot more fun and an experience when you have others who are in the same boat. |

A researcher A writer A copywriter A tech A marketer A figurehead A programmer An analyst if there is no light at the end of the tunnel then walk down and light it yourself. If there is to be a figure head then let that be you and as your business expands employ or sub / the very best of those other options needed to join your hand picked team. So my first guess would be to master the leadership role so that when you look behind you can see those who follow. |

I would love to be the figure head but I also like to get my hands dirty. The hard part is getting partners (not followers) or even employees when the funds are not available, hence the team mastermind idea. Also, just tired of kicking the virtual dust by myself and would like to work with others who share IM as a passion as well as an opportunity. How about you?
