New philosophy. I'm calling you out.

I've been on the forums for quite some time now. Not as long as many of the veterans here, but long enough to have learned a whole lot from a whole bunch of people.

Also, long enough to have learned that a lot of the stuff you read here simply IS NOT TRUE.

It seems as though almost every day I'll run across someone trying to "add value" by posting some method or tip that they used to make hundreds of dollars within 30 minutes.

And while I know that it is certainly possible to do such a thing if you're EXPERIENCED and have a proven track record, most of the time these threads are being posted by people that have all of 20 posts and have been on the forum for less than a month.

The worst part about this is that there becomes a trend among newbies to comment and say how much the OP helped and blah blah blah..

It's downright MISLEADING to the people trying to get into this business with a legitimate desire for success.

The reality is this:

INTERNET MARKETING TAKES LOTS OF WORK

IM is very front end heavy. What I mean by this is that you have to put a LOT of work into your business before you can just "whip up a guide and make 10,000.00 in 3 days". And even after you've put in hundreds of hours of work and experience learning and testing, the chances of you whipping out a guide and blowing the roof off of your bank account are slim.

So, from now on... If I don't believe you, I'm calling you on it. I'm tired of the gross spread of misinformation contaminating this community. People are so scared of confrontation that they just want to look the other way and let LIARS MISLEAD people that have a legitimate business interest.

Very true. Nearly all ways of making money involve hard work.

    This will be interesting!

However, I don't think that all of the people that you are referring to are "liars". Some of them have become so used to IM hype that they have actually come to believe their own hype. Scary!

AGree. I am getting a bit tired of these guys believing in their 'How to make $3000 per day while you lie on the beach with your laptop' schemes

    I agree.

I see a lot of this on the forums and have a few suspicions about my fellow forum posters, but I can't prove anything and it's their journey. I let them get a long with it, simply because I need to put my time into a lot of other things at the moment.

I understand where you are coming from though, I have been tempted to call shenanigans on a few things in the recent past.

I suspect you might attract a lot of negativity from other Warriors with your new approach. If you're cool with that, I wish you the best of luck and look forward to seeing it in practice.

I haven't really ever cared about what others think of me. The bottom line is that I don't really want to be working with anyone that is going to deliberately mislead people anyway.. so if I piss off the people that are misleading others then so be it.

I'm not looking to be malicious, but I will call BS when I see it. And if people can't handle that then oh well. I'd rather potentially help a potential new person see through the bull and move on to succeed rather than chase illusions the whole time.

The people that are worth working with in this industry are people that don't have to make up stories about making a fortune over night anyway.

And don't get me wrong, I don't mind if someone shares a story about how they quit their job and made IM a full time thing. Hell, I don't even care if they magically made 10,000 in 5 days. All I want is for them to TELL THE WHOLE STORY. Don't MISLEAD people into thinking that you have no experience, jumped in, and are now making full time money.

I agree, it's time to call people on the hype. Something else that should probably be considered by the "powers that be" are the new FTC rules. Any claim of "$3000 per day" should be followed by a statement of what the average user of the system achieves. This is a public forum.

I don't know... I guess we need to put it in perspective:

Is it hard to be working in my office watching FuelTV and listening to Pixies real LOUD?

Is it so hard to be here writing a sales copy that can bring me $1000 as soon as it gets online?

Is it so hard to be here watching some Bots working for me?

Is it so hard to be here with my wife laughing with our kids for 2 hours while my brother and his wife are working till 19 and then, ONLY THEN, they will grab kids at grandma so they can rush home to take bath and have dinner?

    Is this all that hard?

    You tell me.

I'm new to this forum, but I've been doing business online in one form or another for about 10 years. One thing that I notice with a lot of the clickbank type things is that people like to show their earning reports. But I never have seen anyone show the corresponding PPC report. For instance, I got one email recently about making money using Google (I forget which program, Googlecash or something) and they showed lots of screenshots of clickbank sales, showing $1500 a day and such. But no real numbers on what they were paying out for clicks.

There should really be a forum-wide rule that earnings must be NET not GROSS. A program that earns $10,000 a month Gross is worthless if it's costing you that much in advertising...

I realize that, and most of the time I'm not basing my opinion strictly on someones post count. It's just a trend that I'm noticing among the threads that I'm talking about.

I understand your frustration, but wouldn't your time be better suited in developing your own business?

If you know that someone is full of crap, then stop listening and go down the road on your mission. Otherwise, you just waste your time getting sucked into some quixotic effort to defend the stupid against themselves.

      You're probably right..

I somehow feel like it's my obligation to help though. I've waded through the crap for years now just to get to where I'm at... It's no wonder so many people fail. There are so many different directions leading in dead ends, it truly takes someone with perseverance to keep moving forward and beating their heads against a wall to succeed. I just want to help eliminate some of those dead ends and make it easier on someone that NEEDS to succeed.

I don't think he means he is gonna be rude and obnoxious about it. I think he just means that if someone makes a claim, he wants to see the proof.

If you are going to hide behind privacy clauses and other things (which I do sometimes), then just keep your mouth shut about it because without any kind of proof, what credibility do you have? And without credibility, you may as well be talking to a wall.

And if you are just going to outright make claims not hiding behind anything, but not showing any proof of your claims, then you're still talking to a wall, right? Or are you preying on the ignorant?

People say that time could be better spent building the business, but some people enjoy this forum, as if it were a social meeting or 'free time' - and if their time is spent reading nonsense, then why not call people out?!

If you have nothing to hide, there shouldn't be a problem.

I can relate to that as I'm still at the bottom of the food chain - i'm eating other people's crap at the moment. But really, i think that's the way the free market works. You go through stuff, if you find it's crap, you ask for a refund. Granted you wasted time but then it should make you wiser and train your crap-detection system a notch. If you didn't learn the lesson then most likely you'll keep eating crap until you do.

That said, it would help THIS forum weed out the crap if you do what you set out to do and make sure you bring others along as well. Aren't we all moderators in here anyway?

I agree that some claims could be challenged but don't judge strickly by post count.

I am new to WF, but not new to IM'ing. I am just now learning about article spinning and link wheeling. Even before I heard of such things or WF for that matter, I had earned well into the six figures with seo.

I am greatful for the knowledge I have found on this board but folks can make money with or with out it.
