WSO question. How do you format?

Hello -

I hope this is the right question to ask so that it makes sense. Basically, from time to time when I look at the WSO's I wonder how you format them.

Can a letter be layed out in Word and "brought it" to the thread without losing images etc? Can/should you use an HTML editor like Dreamweaver or Frontpage?

Any other ideas? I'm wondering how it's possible to put in any images, code and/or text with drop shadows etc into a thread so it looks...like you want it to (if designed or layed out in Word or other options listed above).

I've seen some WSO's that look as if they were created "in thread" and some that looked fabulous with all the "fixings" of a static HTML site.

Thanks for any thoughts...

You can look stuff up on the BB code, or you can go and use an advanced editor here on the forum.

You have to select it in your back end (I just found out about that recently)

You can also cheat with a "quote, copy, and paste" that will let you see how others have done it.

Yea copy and paste a WSO you like, and then edit to your liking like a template. Just play around with it and you will make a nice layout.

Or you can just go to this link on the forum and it spells it all out very nicely:

It's really very easy once you get the hang of it. You can also use the 'go advanced' button below the Quick Reply box - then you can preview your message before you post to make sure it's all done correctly ;-)

Thanks for the great replies. I think I get most of it.

It looks like I'll have to *gulp* work on playing with it. I am assuming it's the same with posting a reply like I am now?

(That 'work' word can be intimidating - but I guess that's how it's done.)

Nathan, just remember: more important than getting it perfect is just getting it out there!

Woah - Thanks again folks, you've given me more than enough info that in fact, I might have been able to figure out. I'm feeling kind of sheepish!

Thank you very much. I've had time to experiment. And I'm liking it.
