So I've only recently began using twitter. (within the last couple of weeks). I have 259 followers. Today I wrote an article on my seoFool.com site about the new Google Toolbar pagerank update that happened last week. I then posted a bit.ly link to that article at twitter. My bit.ly stats say that 51 people clicked on that link at twitter that points directly at the blog post page at seoFool.com However my Google analytics shows only 9 page views for that page...and says that none of them came from twitter. Consequently, 5 people Re-Tweeted the post. What the crap is that all about? Is the bit.ly count just a bunch of dirty twitter bots or something and is Google analytics filtering them out or what? I've noticed this to varying degrees since I started using twitter. Can anyone shed some light on it? Thanks! |

Yea in my experience too bit.ly stats are useless. If you have only 259 followers I doubt 51 people clicked the link, that ctr is much too high. Follow more people so you can get more followers.

I noticed a lot of bots pickup my link when it is posted. I wonder if Google tracks them correctly if they do not load the page all the way.
