I am really curious about your video responses in blog comments.
I guess I am a little behind the curve here.

Actually, I have tried adding video embeds to blog comments in the past, but with no luck. Is that in fact what you did, or did you create the video response, and then link to that video in the blog comment?

Congrats, and along with everyone else, I am astonished at how much work you got done in the 3-5 day period you documented.

These are the kinds of blogs that come with addresses like "yourkeyword.wordpress com." If you have to go free, Blogger is a better choice for now, although there's no guarantee they won't move to a more anti-commercial stance as well in the future.

What most people in IM use is the version of Wordpress found on Wordpress.org (or installed through the Fantastico script system) that's installed separately on your hosting account, so that the Wordpress platform is running off your server. It's a much better option in terms of flexibility and usage, but you do have to buy the domain name to install it on.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Sarah
Thanks Sarah, you explained it exactly right.

Wordpress.com (the free, not on your own host, version) not good.
Wordpress.org (self hosted on your domain) extremely good.

This seems like a huge amount of work to me! I've just picked up the phone and called people who already bought from me in the past and made $7500 in a couple of hours.

But if you're new and don't have a list and want to make money with ebooks,
I think a much easier way to go is to write an ebook and do ebook launches or do a compilation ebook with several cowriters who have big lists. It takes more than 3 days but it's a lot less work! And per day you'l make more money! And the results are way more predictable as long as you find jv partners who's lists are targeted to what you are offering.

Great post, you are either a highly focused workaholic or are on a first name basis with some purveyors of controlled substances. Seriously though, the leg work you just did could keep paying off for you for a long time. Did you set up an autoresponder to list build as well? My only concern would be that you did an awful lot of work and then jeopardized it by using wordpress.com blogs.

I only really set them up on free blogs to start with to test the traffic that I can get and sales and once they are making consistent amounts of money I purchase a domain, host site on hostgator and then install blog and go all out.

I was just going to thank Sarah and VegasGreg for clarification on this issue of wordpress, when I saw this from aaron.

Aaron, so apparently, you were able to use free wordpress blogs for awhile, and even have them monetized without being noticed and closed, then you switched to the paid version of wordpress. Right?

Given the advice I've received on another thread, I'm going to work with blogger for the time being, but I'm curious how long you used the free wordpress in this way. A day? A week? A month? In other words, at what point did you decide that your product was worth going all out for?

Since I'm new to all of this I'm also trying to find out how watchful the
watchdogs are.

That's crazy, and I love how you didn't get anything done the first two days and then went nuts working on it.

Thanked. I'm going to try something similar. I'm also curious on how many of the sales were for what, too.

I am inspired as well. I would like to try and generate $2k between now and next wednesday. Am going to start from scratch as well, bc I want to see how effective his techniques for myself are... I know they are effective, but of course results will vary... Therefore I want to personally see how varied they actually are.
