I have a credit card affiliate website. My site is not making much money but it holds a very strong No. 2 or No. 3 position in Google for credit card related KW. Total search results for that particular KW is 43,900,000. If I want to sell the website today, can I expect to get a higher price because of its good ranking? If so what would be a good price of the website?

Thanks

    # of search results is irrelevant (except to see what your competition is)

    # of searches per month for the term is much more valuable along with whether it's a term used by interested buyers - i.e. - does it convert.

Credit card niche has good paying offers so if you're not making much money from the site, the terms you're ranking for apparently don't convert well.

If we're talking about the site in your signature - you need a lot more content pages if you want to be ranked well in this niche.

    Hi,
If you have a great domain name (not sure if it's the one in your sig) and some traffic then your site will have value but to really sell for the big bucks you need a steady stream of monthly income you can prove to potential buyers for as long back as possible.

What buyers really look for in buying a website is:

    # Number of visitors your site gets a month
    # Amount of income the site makes a month
    # PR of the website, how many backlinks the site has, how old the domain is
    # Whether the site has any members or subscribers - e.g RSS Subscribers
    # How many months the website has been making income

If you have all of the above then you will be onto a winner eventually

PS. Is it just me or is no one hitting the THANKS button today????
