How do you search for TOP BLOGS?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

I have 2 questions!

1) How do you find the BEST/MOST popular blogs on a specific niche?
I tried looking up on google...but is there ANOTHER WAY to search
for the TOP blogs (for your niche)??

2) What do you comment on the blog...do you tell them your link...or
how do you make them link to your site without looking spammy?

One simple way is go to Technorati and do a search for a keyword or tag and see the most popular ones in that set.

Another good technique I use is to use Googles Blogsearch and a FireFox plugin called SEOQuake. That way I can see the pagerank and Alexia rating for each blog underneath each item in the search result. I can also sort listings by PageRank to find Googles most popular picks.

Another simple way is to go to Google and type in...

"niche" + "blog"

Naturally, replace niche with whatever the niche is. So if you're interested
in "make money online" blogs, just type.

"make money online" + "blog".

The top blogs should appear at the top of the search.

  Steven's technique is what I use for finding blogs in my niches.
  
  As far as commenting goes, most blogs that use wordpress have a "no follow" tag on comments so you don't get search engine juice from the links. However, the commenting area usually has a spot to put a site in. Your name and site will show up next to your comment.
  
  As a blogger, I must tell you to not put your link the text area of your comment. That is really annoying and usually the post will be marked as spam.
