Ever have one of those ADD days?

OK so I thought today was going to be great. I woke up and was super-motivated by my newest adsense site (the one I complained about in this post) ... I made $1.47, which of course isn't much in the scheme of things but it made my day to make 20x more than I ever have with this site...or Adsense in general.

SO, being hyper-motivated I thought I would get TONS of work done today. And I did...

  • 10 minutes of writing an awful article
  • 10 minutes of backlinks
  • 2 hours of forum reading
  • An hour scrutinizing every single metric on my sites that I thought I might be able to tweek (which amounted to basically nothing)
  • An hour messing about with a site/domain sale (which I lost about $70 total on ...)
  • An hour swearing at CSS and my failed attempt at a Wordpress theme
So yeah, I accomplished a whole lot of nothing.

Note to self: next time plan out my super-motivated-high-octane day so that I actually accomplish something.

Hopefully I can rescue the evening ... Someone brighten my day with a great tip or something

Happens to me all the time. One thing though. When I stopped doing this, I got super productive and my income skyrocketed.

Hey, on the bright side your day wasn't a total waste, that awful article wasn't going to write itself.

Joking aside, think bigger picture. I used to get so caught up in all the little details that it never really amounted to anything.

Nobody leaves their house without having a destination in mind otherwise we'd all be driving around aimlessly in circles but once you map out a destination for yourself by thinking of an end goal in mind it will help to keep you focused and motivated.

What you need to do is to figure out what your main income stream will be, ie affiliate commissions, creating and selling your own products, site flipping, Adsense, blogging, etc. Then create an income goal for the month and estimate how many articles, Adsense sites, web sites, blog posts you will need to achieve it and then break that down for the month.

You should then have your daily goals ready to roll. The motivation comes by knowing that if you stick with your plan you get a step closer to attaining that income goal with each passing day.

    Hope this helps.

I know you're right. I actually have a "system" that brings in good money if I follow it. It amounts to lots of hard work though, so I guess I am constantly messing around with the "fun stuff" and new approaches that I read here on the Warrior Forum (I also came really close to starting with CPA campaigns, too...I stopped myself from depositing some money into Yahoo)
