Which would you choose to save your life?

Is one better than the other? Or Equal?

I'd like to start using that service for my blog as it seems very useful!

They don't do anywhere near the same thing. Ping-o-matic is a ping update notification service that a Wordpress blog is using automatically by default. Ping.fm is a system you can connect to a Wordpress blog if you like, though you don't have to in order to use it. That service is meant to make syndicating messages across all your social profiles from a central location possible. I use PingPress.FM plugin with Ping.FM in order to distribute content from my blog to my Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and LinkedIn automatically.

I use both. But it's really not an either /or question. They both have the word "Ping" in the name and that's about where the similarity ends.

But I gotta be honest: I don't know how to make rss work PLUS I even bought Big Mike's Socialbot and I STILL don't know how to bookmark stuff, as I didn't find it very user-friendly.

I just managed to sign in into coupla bookmarking websites.

Say what? This sounds like something you just made up. In my experience, this is completely untrue. My rankings and traffic have only improved since I started using Ping.FM to build backlinks strategically.

For pinging, it doesn't actually do as much as it used to, but it does help new sites get indexed fast, and since Wordpress will just do it for you, and there's no harm from it, why not?

Of course, you can do RSS too, but not instead of the others. I like RSS Bot myself. I suggest you syndicate your own RSS feeds as much as possible, and spread your content however you can. Pings and Syndication through social sites via Ping.FM or Pixelpipe are also beneficial.

I would run like hell and go buy a copy of RSSbot; Big Mikes products are great.

Like others in this thread just go get a copy of RSSBot.

That reminds me I need to go buy another one of his products.
