I my mind it's a simple 1 page site used as a landing page or sales page.

Mini site:

Small websites between 5 and 10 pages.

Micro Site:

Smaller website between 1 and 5 pages.

Micro sites ... powerful money makers ;-)

Yes, I would have to agree that the micro sites are a powerful money maker. In my experience the tighter you make the niche (and don't put any information deviating from you niche) the higher the conversions. I find that sometimes people go a bit too far with the information on their micro site which pulls the visitor away from the original (keyword or niche) reason they were there and you lose a conversion.

Mini Sites are small sites, mainly focusing on 1 product and the home page does all the selling with a long copy.

I agree with Jon, regardless of the size of your site you need to make sure it has a killer-converting offer, then drive laser-targeted traffic to it. Size matters Just not when it comes to your website hahaha
