Default Offline Idea

This idea may have been mentioned in the WF before, but would it make sense to find businesses that rank on the 2nd page of a quality search term (good number of searches etc) and offer to get them on the first page (and keep them there with good SEO) with the guarantee that if I can't get them in the, say, top ten results they owe me nothing?

Any thoughts?

Yes it makes sense and there are many video tutorials
on that subject. Larger cities could be a problem in my opinion.
Promising to rank a business in New York City on the top ten,
Hmmm.

Yes and if you do get them there, then charge them a monthly fee to maintain that...

Thanks for your help. I was planning on looking at how competitive the sites on page 1 are and go after keywords that have weaker 1st page results-go after the lower-hanging fruit.

Hi,

It is definately a model you can run with! However, not taking any money could land you with doing the work and not getting paid, as not everyone will pay up unless you get a solid contract in place. I worked for a company a few years ago that tried this and it is more hassle than its worth.

I have a model within my sig that is similar but rather than you hoping to get the cash, you will own the site and rent it. Loads of offliners on here have it and are implementing it to great effect!

It may help, just an idea anyway!
