I hit my 10 article limit back on Day 5, and have been in a holding pattern ever since. Still writing everyday, but they are piling up waiting for EZA.

Hopefully I'll get a membership upgrade soon.

Good news, article marketers!

My premium membership has paid off! One of our sales for an a la carte (single) lens was confirmed to be sent to us from an Ezine Article!

$249, split between Lewis and I - so it paid for my $97 EZA membership.

We haven't gotten replies on the how others found us yet, but as an fyi, our sales have been GREAT since I started article marketing. Look at the comparison:

From August to September, with zero promotion, we had 5 sales

3 out of 5 sales were VIP packs ($799 each) – earning us $2,895

From September to August, we have done much better with promotion - $4,793.60 in sales.

4 out of 9 sales were VIP packs!

I'm excited that the VIPs are converting so well. But that’s not the best part – guess what? I posted the thread about the contest on September 21st.

$1,546 of that total came in AFTER my first article was approved. Hmmm…sounds like there COULD be a connection, and we know of at least $249 of it being from an EZA article.

I can’t wait to see how the other 4 orders from that date on found us.

Yesterday, by the way – I posted several articles for my new Credit site, but none for BuildMyLens – I had to wait for submission approval again. They cleared me for another 25 (I had screwed up my links so I didn’t get Platinum). So today I’ll post 2 more for BuildMyLens to make up for it.

I believe we’ll keep at it and tally everything up at the end of the month and then keep it going as well as use article marketing to promote BuildMyKnol and my own eBook sites. I need to do more of this!

Tiff

They've actually gone back to approving them one at a time lately.

I've submitted today's article called "Toddler Food For the Picky Eater."

One other goal I've set for myself in this challenge is to reach a Total Views of 10,000. Right now I'm at 9,631. Think I'll make it?

I say YES, you'll make it! That's a nice goal to have.

Now, here is my check-in: I've done my article submission for the day.

Today I went a played with buzzle. It's a little different than EZA, but I like it. Here are sone of the differences:

- the title has to be no longer than 65 characters
- the article description can't be the first paragraph of your articles (it needs to be unique)
- you can add links to the body of your article, but if you do, you can't include a link in your bio (actually, there is no bio)
- each link in one article needs to be unique (you can't link to two the same page, even if your anchor text is different)

I submitted 3 articles today, and since I don't know how the process works, I will stop at that. I'll go back each day (or at least I'll try), and add 1-3 articles a day. I have over 100 articles at EZA, so I might as well submit them here as well. I will change some of the titles, write new descriptions, and maybe optimize them for additional key phrases.

Hello Challengers!

I was going to post this info here, but I didn't want to hijack the thread. You see, many of you are coming to a halt as you approach your limits. Well, here's why I suggest submitting to other directories and websites:

Article Marketers - Do You Submit To EZA Only?

Hope this helps!

p.s. Tiffany has updated the OP with some new prizes from me. Good Luck to Everyone!

Just another new article directory.

Well, uhm, I just found this challenge today and could use some motivation as well...
And yes, very motivational, and informative too.

So I'm 10 days behind. Does that mean I should write 1.5 articles/day to get caught up? At least I'm already a Platinum member so I won't get stalled in my submission process to EZA.

And getting that writing done will certainly get me into a better routine ;-)

So this is really strange. Going into this morning I had 7 articles in each of two niches waiting on approval. One in each niche was at 3 bars, the others were all at 1 bar. As of this afternoon I had one more article in each niche approved, so 12 total articles left in the queue.

In ONE niche, I have ALL 6 articles at 3 bars. In the other niche, I have 1 article at 3 bars, and all the rest are at 1 bar. Huh?? I've been submitting a single article to each of the niches per day. But the article I submitted yesterday in ONE niche is already at three bars, while an article in the other niche has been queued up for almost a week. Do they have separate editors working in each niche, and some are just more backed up?

Ben

They'd be mad not to separate editors into different niches. And predictably some niches are much busier than others.

Well today I had 3 articles go live

Started a new job today also -- so tomorrow will catch up a bit. There is another article with a long red bar ready to go live tomorrow - so it is time soon I should have 10 live and be approved to be able to submit more.

Meanwhile busy getting more ready - they will probably find me submitting at least 10-12 the moment they upgrade me.

Will report tomorrw on views and click throughs to sites.

Glad to see everyone still going strong. Tiffany, congrats on the sales - that is awesome!

As for me, I tanked yesterday. It was a crazy day and I was away from home for most of it so I never did submit an article. Today will be the same since I'm just about to dash out the door again! But I was ahead by 2 articles anyway I think, so I'll just play catch up tomorrow. Maybe over the weekend I'll build up a little stash of 5 articles that I can use on busy days! ;-)

I personally like to be safe than sorry really. Specially if I've added the article to my own site. You see if you're submitting the indentical article to 2 sites then it's really a problem to those sites since google will look down upon them and not you. So if those sites are smart, they will not let you post the same article word for word on their site if it's been published before on another site. So you might be able to get away with it, or you might now.

I look at it another opportunity at improving my writing skills and a split test really. It gives me another chance to test out different ways to call to action, different headings, different points of interest etc. And that gives me a little bit more of a change than if I just spread the same article and thereby the same message over to sites.

Rewriting your article once you've written it isn't all that hard, really.

Here's a tip. I somtimes picture myself talking to a different audiance and that helps me say things differently. For example, I'd write an article as if I'm talking to a totaly newbie and then when I rewrite it I'll imagine talking to someone who's a little more experienced. This change of audiance gets reflected in your writing and therefore will give you two versions of the same article easily. I usually picture myself try to explain something to my mom and thus elaborate a lot. Then when I rewrite I picture myself talking to someone who's bough a similar product etc and thus my approach is different.

Hope that helps.

PS: If you're strugling to write, buy a tape recorder and TALK into it. People have a tendency to be able to 100 words easily when they can't write 5 so talk into your tape recorder and then take it to your desk and play it and then write the words down

I brought this back online so you folks could wrap it up. There's no point in killing it when it's already been here this long.

A note for the future though, many MANY members do not like these kinds of threads that ask for people to keep posting over and over with updates. If we had too many of these they would take over the whole front page.

So it's really not a good idea to start these as they usually end up getting canned by the members, like this one did.

So, whatever is going on in this thread let's get it wrapped up asap...

Thanks!

Allen

Thank you Allen for putting it back up!

Even though I'm not even participating or anything like that,
it's good to see it back up so we won't have to see all those

"where's this and that" threads!

Too many whiny people but at least you were kind enough to let this post die by itself soon. And I agree that post like this have can't be posted here since like you said, the front page would be filled with them!

Even though, THIS thread IS an amazing Post by Tiffany!

Yea a lot of people seem to love it.

And I sincerely hope no members here are goofy enough to try and form some kind of "group" to purposely get rid of threads they don't like. I see ALL reports and something like that is easily uncovered.

If a member gets caught being part of some such 'group' they are not going to like what happens.

As far as I could tell though there was no 'group' against this thread. Just a few reports over time by people who didn't want to keep seeing it on the front page.

I agree this is one of the best threads going. Sure, there are a lot of update posts but look at the number of overall views as well. Besides, it's the update posts that I log in to see. Nothing better than being able to watch a process as it is evolving. Just my opinion but I would like to see MORE of these types of threads - not less.

I think it best to compare the complaints vs. the rave responses before judging a thread ... and I guess that's what happened. Excellent.

Big thanks to Allen for bringing back this thread, Am not taking part
in this challenge but I thought it would be ashame to lose it so early
when it was getting so many to take action.

Also I apologies to Allen and all members for starting another thread,
about this, I didn't realize it was frowned upon.

Lesson learnt for the future.

Regards,
paul

*Shakes head, and looks puzzled!*

While I understand the last point you make Allen, it still amazes me. Is this something that you need to bring up in the rules, or something? Does it mean the only place we can start these kind of threads is the off-topic section, even although the thread in itself could turn out to be a goldmine?

I can think of many other threads that should have 'disappeared' as they kept popping back up to the first page. As with always it's probably just me, like everything else!...

Thanks

Wow, I can't believe the thread got killed! Thanks Allen for bringing it back.

Now I'm not sure if we should still be posting updates here or not? Maybe weekly updates instead of daily?

OK let me wrap up my participation in this thread and in the challenge. While I learnt a lot about article marketing I fell too far behind with my daily writing and submissions.

On top of that EZA suspended my account until I "retore my good standing" - something to do with "mistakes", which they didn't see as mistakes in my previously approved articles were mistakes in my last four. I wrote to them but I'm not holding my breath

Allen, I'll follow along if the challenge gets moved somewhere else, as I'm sure many will - but I don't get why we should even have to do that in the first place? I could see if we were all starting dozens of threads about the challenge why some people might think we were crowding the main forum or something, but we're keeping it all in one thread. I thought that's what threads were for, to keep a discussion going on one topic? LOL

Well, if we have to move it, so be it, just let me/us know!

That's a great idea. It would keep these type of challenges going and motivating people without interfering with the main forum.

Only drawback is most people don't venture to far from the main forum.

First, a big thanks to Allen to bringing it back.

Second, apologies to whomever was irritated about the "staying on page 1" deal. The reason I initially posted in the main forum is because of what Alan Peterson said -

I wanted to get people acting and reminded, etc.

But I wouldn't mind if it was moved or anything if we go another section or if Allan doesn't mind if Allen (lol) continues it elsewhere - whatever works for you guys!

Again, appreciation and apologies. I won't ask everyone to continue posting here. Someone just tell me where we move the party and I'm there!

Don't worry about it Tiffany :-)

Go ahead and complete it, a lot of people are getting help from it so it will stay.

YAYYYYY! I just had 6 articles go live. Now the count is

Pending - 3
Live - 7
Article(s) Views:- 11
URL Clicks:- 2

These stats are from EZA's menu. I have noticed thought that my sites have increased a little since I started posting articles on EZA.

Just waiting now until the last 3 clear so I can get upgraded then I will post all the ones that I have been working on. The last 3 are only at one bar so I think it will be a few days before they clear.

This is getting exciting. lol Thank you Tiffany!

Wow, I'm glad the thread is back - thanks Allen. I like Tracey's idea of a separate forum for challenges, there's often stuff like this going on and it'd be nice to be able to keep up with them without annoying people in the main forum.

I've submitted 24 articles and have made 18 sales so far. For the last couple of days I've earned approximately $100 a day so I'd be pretty happy if I could keep that up. I've definitely identified a few products that are worth promoting in the long term.

I made a mistake today and used a link in the body of the article too soon (in the third paragraph), or I would have 9 live articles. I fixed my mistake and it's now at 3 red squares.

It pays to read the rules before you get started: I thought the link in the body couldn't be in the first 2 paragraphs, but it's actually first 3 paragraphs.

I'm glad to see that this thread is back.

My articles have started going live and my optins are starting to come in.

I still cannot submit any more articles until I am able to upgrade. That is kind of frustrating. I have however still been writing articles and they are waiting in a text file ready to be submitted. So, once I upgraded I will have a mad rash of articles being submitted.

Do you think that is smart, or should I space them out?

Hi Tiff,

This is a good idea to keep my articles submission in check. I'm not big in promoting affiliate products and so I will post my results for all to see based on my weekly stats and also of possible I'll post some charts. Then, depends on the quality I'm going to post the CTR on my sigs. What do you think?

PS: Steve is like the absolute master so he wins handsdown anyway, I'd recommend the "Article Yoda Masters Competition" for Steve ... haha

Just a quick report -- EZines have now approved my 10th article, so I am waiting on their "upgrade" so I can submit more.

Will take a look at the clicks tomorrow and report.

I notice a few posts asking about posting same articles on our blogs as on ezinearticles. The rule of thumb as I have been told is there needs to be a 20% difference between the article on ezines and your post.

This is what I have started to do:
I write a post, then once I have 2-3 more on top of it, I rewrite the first post and submit it as an article. That way I can keep up with articles and posts.

Hope this helps.

I've just finished all my submissions and am waiting for EZA to send
me a new batch to play with.

Is it just me or does EZA seem to be approving articles in a faster
pace now?

I have 5 live articles. Had to resubmit two because one I had the wrong pen name, and the other had an error for the linked website URL.

I actually had my first article get rejected. It had two mistakes! One link "above the fold" in the body, and three self-serving links. I took out the one in the body and that solved both problems. I'm guessing that will now prevent me from going straight to platinum? Anyone know if they have had a couple mistakes and still get straight to platinum? They have had no problems with my other submissions!

I'll update stats once I am able to submit more articles. Hopefully any day now. My last three articles waiting are all at 1 bar though.
