From time to time, I've seen complaints from people that they can't unsubscribe from certain marketers' lists. Well, here's a little something I discovered that might help.
Yesterday, I unsubscribed from about every list I was on with one of my eMail addresses. They were lists I either no longer read or lists that I also subscribe to on another eMail address, so there wasn't much sense in staying on the same list twice. Most of them went flawlessly. With one, though, I couldn't seem to get off. I followed the link to their Unsubscribe page on the web and hit the right buttons. Yet, I continued receiving mail from them. Tried to unsubscribe again. Nothing. Kept getting messages. So, I tried a different approach. I copied the unsubscribe page link and pasted it into a different web browser. Once again, I unsubscribed. Voila! This time I was off the lists! Obviously, this may not be the case for all those hard-to-unsubscribe lists, but it might be worth a try. Some unsubscribe pages might not be properly configured or designed to work with multiple browsers. |
